There is a superstition that if you sneeze three times you get a wish. When I was a kid I sneezed in pairs, but I really wanted to get the wish, so I willed myself to sneeze a third time. Didn't work at first but eventually that's what I ended up doing. Now, I sneeze in triplets - can't help myself.

I sneeze from bright lights. I read once that the optical nerve and the nerve that triggers sneezing run adjacent to each other and that one can trigger the other in some people.

In other words, it's not the sensory nerve running from retina to brain; it's a nerve running the other way, from central nervous system to periphery. In some people, the nerve controlling the pupillary light reflex and the nerve controlling the sneeze reflex are supposedly a little cross-wired so that the stimulus that causes pupil contraction (bright lights) causes both pupil contraction and sneezing. pretty cool!

I enjoy the first seven or so sneezes (for real!). Then it starts getting dangerous...Every get a sneezing fit while driving? That's some serious business in traffic.

Yes, I've scared myself a few times that way. I rarely sneeze more than three or four times but sometimes they're violent! Supposedly your photic sneeze reflex is a big concern with pilots.
