Who would you choose?

So I asked earlier about the most powerful person in the world. So now let me ask, if you had to choose one person, present or past, to be the leader of the world tomorrow. (You can bring them back from the dead if you wanted to) Who would you choose?

It can be a group or an individual. Explain why you choose this person.

The premise, is that the entire world has asked YOU, and has trusted YOU to elect someone or a group to this position, but it can't be you.

Anybody I'd choose would be immediately overthrown for being too radical for our current social norms.

Even if they'd obey my choice though, having any leader would be contrary to my goals. It'd be much better to just appoint myself world leader for a day, lay down a crapload of social changes, then immediately resign in a manner which completely eliminates the world leader position altogether.

sounds good, maybe I will grant that.

OK, now breathe out! That was a mouthful ;)

Thank you. But you didn't tell me why you choose each one, and what they would do for us :p

That would be very time-consuming. Basically, I was trying to pick a group of great thinkers and visionaries with a track record of ably communicating their message and getting things done. I know it seems like a long list, but it would be longer if I hadn't limited my advisory council to 21 members. I could easily have named a council of fifty. Kofi Annan, Thomas Jefferson, Sojourner Truth, Ivan the Terrible before he went insane, and many others.

I don't think it's out of line to say that it's too big a job for one person.

I picked Mandela as the leader because he's tough, smart, compassionate, and a beloved grandfather figure whom most people respect. Scott Nearing or Queen Elizabeth I would be bound to rub a lot of people the wrong way. :)

I already smell conspiracy. You know 7 x's 3 equals 21, and there are 7 days in the week, and Jesus was on the cross for 3 days! :D

The problem is that one person can't rule the world, it would have to be at least a group of people. Why you ask? Because absolute power corrupts absolutely. ;)

No, he wasn't. But 3 is the number of the Trinity.

And any fan of Irish music can tell you there aren't always seven days in a week.
Seven days are in the week in almost every circumstance
And there's four seasons in the year, that's what we learned at school
Ah, but never count your chickens when you're dealing with the women
For many a wise man fell asleep and wakened up a fool

The first time I saw my love was on a Monday morning
And the second time I saw her was a Tuesday afternoon
When she kissed me on a Wednesday I couldn't wait for Thursday
But I can tell you now, me boys, that Thursday never came
;)

I would say Re as it is all His anyway. That, and He has taken to human form in the past to rule Egypt. He has more "ruling" experience than anyone. He could easily rule the rest of the world in the same fashion that He ruled Egypt thousands of years ago.

I'm not sure but I would be against a single world leader, in theory a benevolent dictator would be the best form of government but in reality I don't think anyone should be trusted with that amount of power.

I would appoint everyone the leader.

Then I would say, "Now work together you ******* ********, or perish."

I would choose an anarcho-syndicalist commune! where Genghis Khan, Saladin and the Emperor Augustus reigned in turns!
The Khan, because despite the unjust reputation he has for brutal conquering and no more, he has gathered the best scientists, engineers, and scholars from the world and applied their abilities in creating magnificent development. Saladin, because of his military genius and his honorable character, Augustus because of the stability he brought to the Roman empire, and his stable legacy which lasted for centuries after his reign.
