Who would be better at dealing with North Korea? Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?

I don't see much tangible difference so far.

Trump has less of an understanding of politics in the peninsula and international entities. One talk with Xi Jinping changed his understanding of sanctions and the UN.
At least he is willing to listen.

I didn't vote because it's hard to say what Hillary would have done with this ramping up by North Korea. However, Trump's ignorance is not only stunning, it's out-and-out dangerous. Plus his spouting off on Twitter is really scaring the heck out of a lot of people internationally as he posts one idiotic and demeaning tweet after another after another. It seems that his daughter and son-in-law have put a horse-collar on him but now they also should put a muzzle on him and his cell phone.

There is a bit of me that thinks the US has been too accommodating in recent years when it comes to international bad actors. Just a bit of me.

But trump's ignorance shouldn't be the foundation of a more proactive policy.

I find it amusing how all of the liberals who spoke ill of Trump prior to his bombing of Syria are now in favor of some of his actions.

I think that Hillary's less suicidal military tactics would be better with North Korea. Trump is dooming us.

Yes, we shouldn't be inciting the powerful North Korean military machine. They'll steamroll over us without breaking a sweat. It's best that we just keep sending them money and aid, and hope we can appease the mighty empire.

We could just ignore North Korea.
China has more to lose from a conflict on their border and more influence on Pyongyang.
Let them deal with it.

Ignoring them might be perceived as an insult. Better that we do everything possible to ensure we don't intentionally, or unintentionally, anger the unstoppable giant.

Perhaps Trump will build a Wall across the peninsula.
I hear he is good at promising them. Doubtless Kim will pay for it out of his humanitarian aid money, just like Mexico.

If only it were that simple. No wall - no matter how tall, long and thick - could ever hope to even, momentarily, slow down the invincible and all-powerful North Korean war machine. Building such a wall could only serve to ensure that our punishment would be terrible beyond words.

Really? You thought of that, just because I said "long and thick?"

It must have been subconscious, as I don't remember you saying "long and thick".
Of course, I don't read much that you post. I am just like any other ordinary RF member*

*see what I did there? I figured that I would have to point it out.

No one has the least idea how to deal with NK. They never react rationally or like any other state.
Any war would soon involve SK and so its loss. The Usa would never commit to a restart of the Korean war again.
So far trump has reacted like a school boy.

Taking time to figure out what's actually happening before reacting is known as good judgement. Foreign policy based on reactionary emotions are what end up coming back to bite us in the ***.

While it may make us feel really prideful to drop huge bombs on bad guys, the realities of world relations are little more complex than "Holy frijoles! Let's kill 'em sunsa*****es!"

So, I prefer a collected and contemplative leader over a reactionary one.
