Why Agree with God?

Yeah, the God of the scriptures is not an all-loving one.
I understand that, I chose to follow my own morality in return for a unknown future. I don't really care for God personally.
But Christians seem to believe in enternal suffering for non-Christians.

Christians or 'so-called Christians', after all Jesus said MANY would come ' in his name ' but prove false.
A future resurrection is promised for both the 'righteous and unrighteous' at Acts of the Apostles 24:15.
There is No, I repeat, No suffering ( eternal or otherwise ) for the wicked but just: destruction.
As Psalms 92:7 says the wicked will be ' destroyed forever ' ( annihilated ) Not suffering.
No suffering because as Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the dead know nothing.
Nothing but ' sleep ' just as Jesus and the Psalms teach at John 11:11-14; Psalms 115:17; Psalms 146:4.

The all-loving God of 2 Peter 3:9 is all-loving to everyone because we are all asked to ' repent ' if we do Not wish to ' perish ' ( be destroyed ).

Um... because "He" can wipe us out or bless us and knows what is going on in our lives and how we can even get what we want.

But why would they think that God's opinion of good and evil is any more objective than any other beings'?

To me, ' resurrection ' is a good objective reason to think that God's opinion of what is good or what is evil/bad is revalent, is important.
Jesus, as God's Spokesman, knew his God better than anyone else because God sent the pre-human Jesus from Heaven down to Earth for us. Jesus was given the power over the resurrection for us as per Revelation 1:18.

I believe God as described by Judaism exist, but I am baffled by why so many people believe that becuase a god or goddess exists that we should agree with their rules and attitudes.

Why is this so prevelant?

Thanks for your time and please play nice. :)

Well, we don't HAVE to...but then we do get to reap the consequences of our choices.

your question does remind me, just a bit, of the guy who said "so what if my doc is an MD and a cardiologist? So WHAT if he told me to exercise more and eat better? Why should I agree with his rules and attitudes?"

MOST religions have a sort of 'golden rule' base, and most of the rules are actually good ones; you know, treat each other better, don't steal commit murder, lie...that sort of thing.

So I suppose that, while it is true that you don't HAVE to pay attention and actually follow along with what God (Whoever you think He/She/It is) I would say, personally and humbly, that I would be much happier if everybody around me behaved accordingly, and I'm quite certain that all around me would be happier if I did.

A perfect God should be obeyed because of his position as God -almighty, most high, creator, all-knowing... The source of necessary government -and because perfection and incorruptibility would make that necessary government perfect.

It seems logical to me at this point that the "original" being was necessarily perfect because any mis-step would affect that being immediately.
It may not be easy for people to believe that God is eternal -but also developed -but all creativity is a sort of self-development.
With God, however, he would literally have created all things from that which he was -essentially "everything" being/becoming aware of itself and able to make of itself anything -any configuration -including separating part of what he is to become ourselves.

There must be order and perfect government -and only God is knowledgeable and powerful enough to be head of that government

A mature, healthy relationship means telling someone off if they're a jerk, even if they're divine. :)

Jews see it as having a contract with God. I suppose Christians see it somewhat this way too.

They uphold their end of the contract then so does God.

So you don't have to agree with the contract. Don't have to follow the rules. Only if you want God to live up to his end of the bargain. Otherwise I you are on your own.

The Christian view is that, God will always live up to his end of the bargain, hence seven-times-seventy and the sacrifice of Christ.

Yeah, the God of the scriptures is not an all-loving one.

Didn't Christ sacrifice ALL that he had for the sake of his (God's) love?

It depends on how you see God. In my view God isn't like us and isn't interested in "small details" as it were.

Prevalent I suppose because of the lesson taught about Adam and Eve.
Adam and Eve along with Satan did Not agree with God's rule and attitude.
Satan promoting the idea that disagreeing God by 'Sinning with Satan' was the best way of living.
Disobedience to the "Do not eat from one particular tree" Law brought about sickness and death to the human race.
If Satan, Adam and Eve agreed with their Creator, then we would Not have the problems on Earth as we do today.

Satan is not a singular being in Judaism. It's a title given to enemies of God.

If not by Jewish standards, then by who is the NT Christian standards in the verse at Revelation 4:11

True, we have Not yet seen the return of the Genesis ' tree of life ' benefiting Earth as mentioned at Revelation 22:2, but does that mean it is impossible or improvable. Who can say what is prophesied will Not be true or accurate.

I don't understand. If I don't believe he meets the standards to be a prophet according to the Jewish holy scriptures then why are you quoting Christian holy scriptures?

I'm sorry, but he didn't meet the requirements to be one of the messiah.

In Judaism at least, many of the rules are outdated and immoral by modern standards.

I know of no scripture in Judaism that supports the idea of God being all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good. Those seem to be Christian inventions.

Much of the Torah supports that God is anything but all-good.

So the first person who comes up with an idea is the best at it?

Person? I thought we were talking about God here.

I suppose it still kind of makes sense, that the first being to come up with the idea for a working universe is de facto the best at it.
