Why are most people who answer my questions atheists ?

It’s interesting, is it not @Massimo2002?

I have nothing against atheists, but I’m not too sure why so many choose to gather on a religious forum.

For instance, I am not a flat-earther. I think it’s humbug (sorry, I do not mean to offend anyone and don’t at all often express this opinion). I would never seek out a flat-earth forum; let alone, join in on conversations there. It makes no sense whatsoever to me.
And when I was atheist, I did not discuss faith - religion, maybe but faith, never.
That’s just me though.

I see very few Christians and no Muslims at all Answering my questions is there mostly atheists here ?
I don't think any particular "group" is in a majority on RF. Perhaps it's a matter of what questions you ask and in which sub-forum you place them?

I'm not sure what group is in the majority. We have a lot of pagans, "spiritual but not religious", eclectic believers and others. I think there are actually few Muslims. But there is a reasonably active group who espouse Christian ideas.

I'm sure there was a poll recently on this, but I can't find it...

Apparently atheist forums are boring so they come here to hone their heckling skills.
Heckling

noun

  1. Shouting in order to interrupt a speech with which the shouter disagrees.
    Similar: barracking
  2. Shouting to interrupt a speech with which you disagree. Hearing voices that are not really there is quite common among religious types I am told.

If most of the human population believed in some form of flat-earthism, then I think that those skeptical of the belief would be more interested in talking about it in social media, especially in a sub-forum devoted to debates on the various versions of flat-earthism. Given the relative popularity of the belief that the earth is flat, devoting an entire forum to debates on the subject seems rather pointless, so it isn't surprising that you find yourself uninterested in seeking out such forums.

:lightbulb:It’s possibly a personality thing too.

For instance, there are a lot of very influential and powerful political views that are seriously skewed, in my opinion. If I come across them, I’ll say so too! Yet, I would not actively seek out their forums and participate. Doing so would achieve nothing and likely cause me much inner rage.

RF welcomes atheists, despite the fact a few religious people hate us and make their hatred known. And i don't ever remember seeing a scripture "hate thy neighbour"

@Massimo2002, Looking at @Left Coast thread on the matter. Of those who answered atheism is the larger group, thought it's close for the most popular religions. However sum all the religious groups and in total they dwarf atheist members. So, i think it's more to do with your questions then an atheist majority.

There is a rough demographic here: What Is Your Religion or Worldview?.

I think it's important to note that religious people may be less inclined to share their beliefs in a debate venue because the are not keen on having their beliefs challenged. If you have questions for religious people, you might find they'll more readily respond to you in Religions Q&A under Interfaith Discussion.
