Why are most people who answer my questions atheists ?

We could be basing ideas on factual or logical errors.
When one checks online for the remit of "religion" one commonly sees words such as reverence, doctrine, practice, beliefs, values, worship, rituals and tradition. I'm not sure that facts or logic have much to do with such things. It is a fact that a person may bow in front of a statue. Factually correct then. So what? And what has logic got to do with it? Nothing, obviously.

And thus we have a lively discourse between the thinkers and the faithful. This is what makes RF such a lively and interesting forum.

Christianity and Islam are not the only alternatives to atheism.
Do you believe that if one is not a Christian or a Muslim one is atheist? That is, the only valid gods in your view are the gods (or God, perhaps, more properly) of these two religious demographics?
I don't think this was the implication in the OP.

I've had more than a few interactions with @Massimo2002, and I believe some other Dharmics. Perhaps a few Pagans and Jews mixed in there as well. I think he's talking about the disproportionate amount of responses he's received from members of the two largest religions in the world.

Now I am curious. When asked the full date how do people respond where you live? For example here we would say for the last day of the year that it is "December 31st, 2023." Do you actually say "It is the 31st of December, 2023"?
You make it sound like doing it that way is bizarre and don't make sense :D

There are plenty of theists here. Like, maybe your choice of topics invites discussion from nonbelievers or something. I mean, as far as diversity goes, this place is pretty good. Try and atheist forum or a Christian forum. Far less diversity there, imo. And the discussions concerning religion can be rather narrow.

I mean, there's some atheists here... and atheists will respond to your threads here. If that bothers you there are plenty of theistic forums who restrict atheists access. That sounds right up your alley, doesn't it? They aren't too hard to find.

I used those two religions as an example because they were the biggest I didn't say that they were the only alternative to atheism.

The factor that the two polls listed here didn't figure in is the activity. One or two very active people of any religion would certainly make it seem like that faith is overrepresented. It would be interesting to do the survey based on # of posts rather than # of posters.
Perhaps you are correct.

It’s interesting, is it not @Massimo2002?

I have nothing against atheists, but I’m not too sure why so many choose to gather on a religious forum.

For instance, I am not a flat-earther. I think it’s humbug (sorry, I do not mean to offend anyone and don’t at all often express this opinion). I would never seek out a flat-earth forum; let alone, join in on conversations there. It makes no sense whatsoever to me.
And when I was atheist, I did not discuss faith - religion, maybe but faith, never.
That’s just me though.
Many atheists and agnostics were believers at one time, so it's an interesting subject to discuss.

When I first discovered this place, I came as a believer. I lurked for a bit and came to atheism much later. I feel many atheists who come here deal with religious trauma if some sort or another so I'm not too surprised to see atheists here for that reason at least
great post, sharing an honest approach with your own experience/choice.

Question: do you still maintain personal responsibility without requiring a religious appeal?

Hmmm... When you say "religious appeal," could you given an example?

Fear of damnation, expecting to be forgiven.

AS I see the abrahamic sects, a person can learn the rules (commandments) and follow them and be just as good as jesus or the pope and never tithe, pray or go to church even once.
