Why Commemorate the Death of Jesus?

"Bathing in his blood disguises you as christ, so god doesn't see the filthy, disgusting (perfect creation) you really are. He sees his perfect son." Close, but no cigar. That describes forensic or imputed justification that was invented by Martin Luther. Before he came along, it was never a xtian doctrine. The birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension has everything to do with salvation, and should be seen as an organic whole, not compartmentalized or dichotomized.
Hem. Maybe i misread 1 peter 1, where it states you were redeemed by the blood of christ. Maybe I misread Hebrews 9 where Paul says that it is the blood of christ through which you are redeemed. Maybe I misread Luke 22 where Jesus says the new covenant is my blood. There are dozens of passages that specifically state the blood of christ redeems. There is not a single passage that states the resurrection had anything to do with salvation, other than giving hope that the promise of the blood was real.

I'd like to know the exact month, day and year he died. The moon calendar is not used today except for Jesus death. Why?
Is that how they do all non historical deaths?

The Christian calendar is very complex and is very ancient. As a result all Movable Feasts like Easter fall on different dates each year. However as the seven day cycle has never been lost or broken the days, weeks and lunar months remain the same, whatever the calendar date might suggest.

The lunar calendar is the official one in Saudi Arabia, it is also used in combination with the solar calandar in other countries including China.

So what Month, Day, Year did Jesus die?

Pretty much the same in Catholicism. I actually haven't been to the Good Friday service but my mom has and it is very sorrowful and intense.
Good Friday
Just goes to show how similar Catholicism and Orthodoxy are. In the words of Pope John Paul II and Patriarch Ignatius Zakka I Iwas in their joint declaration, the minor differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy "arose only because of differences in terminology and culture and in the various formulae adopted by different theological schools to express the same matter"

No one knows. Maybe he never existed? I mean the greatest event (the Salvation of Humankind) and no one can date it,

Interesting.

That is the way with ancient history almost nothing is dateable in that way. Dates were simply not thought important.

Almost no events in any religion were dated.

Yeah, I used to "believe" the Preachers and Ministers about the Bible. Then I started asking questions they couldn't answer, so in a round about way they didn't want me embarrassing them for not knowing. So I studied on my own listened to others Christians and Non. Took a little from each left a lot of the Christian teaching as a guilt trip to keep the money coming into the churches. I never needed to belong to any clubs(church). Tried every so called promise from Jesus, Raising the dead, speaking to mountains of snow to move and realized it (the Holy Bible) was simply a Theological Literary Construct. No different then any Snake Cult, Comet Cult. Moon/Sun Cult of "Faiths" or "Beliefs."

Now its time for a real education.

Then you can answer your own question below.

Yes we do know.

He probably existed, and almost universal consensus of those with an education agree.

Right now as of today, nothing explains the evidence like a martyred Aramaic Galilean who was crucified at Passover and after his death people found importance ion the mythology and theology.

I'd rather read your arguments in other forums. Believers in Jesus can remove mountains, heal the sick, raise the dead. Jesus said they could.

Im sure there is.

But why would anyone want to celebrate a gruesome torture?
It was not a gruesome torture. It was the sacrificial offering of an unblemished, perfect, lamb, the smell of the blood is pleasing to the Lord. It is only through drenching ourselves in the blood of christ that the vengeance of the lord will pass over us. This is how the spirit of the lord passed over the hebrews in Egypt when they sacrificed and smeared blood on their doors the night that the spirit of the Lord slew the first born of Egypt. The blood of christ is like catnip to god. It's godnip if you will. If you are covered in christ's blood, then god will not cast you into the fiery pit. Anything that does not bath in the blood of christ is damned.

The Lord is a vengeful, angry, wrathful god. But a little bit of spilled blood goes a long way to appease him. If it's the right blood.
