Why do animals die?

cardero

Citizen Mod
Well everything has to die, it is one of the few Truths we can rely on. I think one of the reasons that animals do not have very long lifespans is because the entity that occupies this animal "model" does not desire to spend many moments in this physical existence.

Did my dogs ancestors disobey God too?
Are you under the impression that we are not immortal because our ancestors disobeyed God ?

Some think that but it would seem to me that Adam & Eve were mortal.

God didn`t kick them out of Eden because they ate of the tree of knowledge, he kicked them out because he feared they would now eat of the tree of life and become immortal.

Gen 3:22-24
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

The part I always liked about these verses was wondering just who "Us" was.

Sorry, not this one; our bodies wear out; we die. That is nature; the same applies to animals.

After death ? well, now, that is a different subject.

I don't quite understand this cardero. Tortoises live longer than humans, does that mean they like it here more than we do?

I can tell you for certain why deer die. It's because I shoot and eat them.

But honestly, I love animals...they taste great.:jam:

Who do you think "us" was?

Humanly speaking, I couldnt begin to imagine or understand the purpose why a soul would occupy a tortoise shell but Chris P's answer will suffice until my wondering mind settles on a valid reason.

Well if we look at it from a modern context "Us" could very well be Gods angels.
Immortal and having divine knowledge.

If we look at it from an ancient Hebrew/Polytheistic context "us" seems to postulate the existence of "other gods".

Considering it was written by ancient Hebrews I`d tend to give more credence to the latter.

in answer to the question why do animals die? death is an essential part of life, to live forever would be pointless, we would walk the earth until we hold all the knowledge possible, until we are bored with our existence, and then we will wish for death.

if we did not die, we would ask the question "why is our world so over populated?"

i agree its unfair when loved ones get snatched away from us before their old and grown, and its always sad and hard to go through, but please believe me when i say, that death is by no means the end of the journey, not by a long shot.

blessed be
mike
