Why do men wear ties & a woman wears dresses?

Why do male birds flash its feathers and dance in circles while mammals flex its muscles to attract a female while the human male sits back while the female fluffs her hair and wear colorful makeup.

Why did humans reverse this role?

Especially the tie thing, why do men wear ties?

And once a GM department head paid me an hour of overtime pay
to wear one to a meeting. (I wore socks too....without charge.)

Did some quick research interested myself

Ties came from satchels that military's wore around the neck for identification. It gets complicated from there but that's were most people believe it started.

Dress were basically tunics that both men and woman wore. Women just adapted them to highlight their features.

And slowly times are changing with women wearing ties. Now women can wear anything they choose but men's fashion choices, outside of small communities, is limited.

Yes. I don't understand the continuing taboo against men wearing women's clothes if they wish. If that offends some people's sense of masculinity- let it be offended.

I have noticed that men wear pants when riding horses is part of their historical development, way back. I think the tie is to protect the shirt from food stains, originally. This is all half-remembered from BBC documentaries, so......grain of salt

Heh, this reminds me of a time when I missed the school bus and instead stayed home to eat breakfast (abnormal) as mom had made porridge. I was wearing my tie and the end had dipped in the cereal. It never came out and everyone always knew my tie because it had porridge stains on

Personally I don't like ties.
And lots of the time, I would like to wear looser unfitted clothes like dresses(but I wouldn't call them that).
But I do wear ties and I don't wear unfitted bottoms, because I have been thoroughly inculturated concerning clothes. Specifically, what are mens clothes and what aren't.
At least to me.
I realize that it's not particularly rational. But it isn't important enough to do anything about. Forcing myself to wear "women's wear" would be more trouble than it's worth to me.

As a scientist i need to gather data on this one... The history of fashion, and I need to look at cultural differences and why not all cultures got ties, I need to gather information in interviews with people wearing ties, and why they are wearing ties...

As a believer, I trust in my intuition, its attractive!!!
