Hello Wildswanderer I hope all is well... Your only authority is the scriptures! (can't fool me) You reject the Church Jesus established, you also reject the early Church Fathers (Apostolic Tradition)
Catholics believe the Scriptures but NOT alone because; ALONE they can be misinterpret; proof is all around you.... Over thirty-five thousand Protestant denominations all claim to have the ONLY truth but not even two of all these thousands believe the same things! Your church is just one of these, being forced to reject some of the scriptures to teach others!

Wildswanderer As a Catholic I don't have your problem... I have an AUTHORITY to correctly interpret the scriptures! The One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church came before the bible.. The Bible is a book of my Church; she ALONE put it together with the help of God the Holy Spirit: She decided the truly inspired words of God from the many false phony letters that were kicking around! DON'T.....

Honor is good. Adoration and worship of any human is unequivocally wrong. Praying to Mary is blasphemy. We don't have to go through any human to get to the Father or the Son or the Spirit. The veil is gone, praise God! No need for a box with a priest in it. Jesus is our priest!
