Why do some religious people preach there beliefs to non believers ?

In Edmonton I have seen this multiple times and find it annoying.
You are Not alone in your thinking
Jesus preached to non-believers - Luke 4:43
Jesus told his followers to do what he did but do it on a grand-international scale - Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8
Once the powers in charge are saying, " Peace and Security......." those Safety sounding words will prove otherwise
So, even if preaching annoys just think how much more annoying it will be when the powers surprisingly turn on the religious world

You Christians are so pessimistic.

No, "optimistic" because we are all invited to pray to God for Jesus to come ! - Rev. 22:20,2
Come and bring 'healing' to earth's nations ( and earth's nations need healing as never before in history )
What do you find pessimistic about the 35th chapter of Isaiah _____________________

It goes both ways. Atheists preach a lot too.

Why? Because both would like others to do the right thing and they believe their worldview is the right path. Of course there could be hypocrites here and there but this is what goes on in the majority of them imo.

It annoys me a lot too. That said, let me propose a number of different reasons.

1. It can be part of the religion that missionizing is a requirement. For example, all young adult males are required to be missionaries in the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

2. Sometimes when something new and exciting happens to people, they are bursting at the seams to share it.

3. People who believe that their religion is the sole source of salvation might be genuinely moved by concern to save others the same way that a person might push their fad diet onto others for their own good.

4. Some people are simply rude and thoughtless and like forcing others to listen to their beliefs. They are not aware that their own selfishness is spoiling their credibility.

As @IndigoChild5559 states, there are many reasons, but I find most are probably based in fear unfortunately pulled from certain texts.

Matthew 28:19-20 is considered the primary Bible verse about witnessing, directly instructing believers to share the Gospel and make disciples.

Acts 1:8 highlights that the Holy Spirit will empower believers to effectively witness.

1 Peter 3:15 encourages sharing your personal experience with Christ when asked about your faith.

Matthew 18:15-20 which instructs believers to privately confront a brother or sister if they are sinning, with the goal of restoring them to a righteous path; essentially "saving" them from their sin.

James 5:19-20
My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

People see it as their mission, or commission and yes it's definitely annoying.

Anyone who needs to advertise their religion and try to convince people must admit their religion isn't all what it's cracked up to be because it can't stand on its own merits.

... because it makes them feel good. It gets their blood pumping. They like to hear the sound of their own voice preaching.

It's also a form of self-hypnosis: fervent self-affirmations. The act of speaking / declaring the words out-loud repeatedly reinforces the ideas in their psyche ( regardless of their validity ).

The need for self-affirmation helps drive all this proselytizing. It reminds me of the fable of the fox that cut off its own tail and then tried to convince others to do the same.

I feel like it comes from arrogance as if they have found the truths and blessings of their religion and they know it is true and have felt it and assure others can too. These people to me seem the furthest from god and should become listeners not preachers, oh well

It's best to ask the individuals engaging in the behavior directly. Reasons why I might "preach" about my religion:
  • My religion is who and what I am and I can't avoid being who and what I am
  • I like who and what I am, so I am comfortable sharing that and putting myself out there
  • I like sharing things that might be inspiring and bring happiness or joy into lives
  • I am deeply distressed by present biodiversity loss and the sixth mass extinction; it is human-caused and has human solutions
To some, simply existing as a cultural group and living your life in a way that reflects that is considered a problem or preaching. I don't agree with this hostility to human diversity, but it's a thing and the OP didn't specify where they do or don't draw the line with what constitutes preaching. I do not (yet) live in a culture that would actively persecute me for who and what I am so I am free to express who and what I am without fearing for my life or my wellness. This, unfortunately, has been changing in a negative way lately.
