Why do you believe what you believe?

My goal in this thread is not at all to debate various beliefs.I'm just curious as to why people came to believe what they believe.

I began exploring religions in my teen years and came to appreciate the truths in several religions... I reached a place where I didn't want to reject say Krishna to believe in Christ. I disliked putting down other religions and came to accept they all had truth.

Around my twenty fifth year I discovered Baha'i Faith and it does accept the Founders of the great religions. The Faith was also in tune with the civil rights and peace movement that I had been active in...so that's how I became a Baha'i.

(Hmm. Wonder why I didnt answer this question yet)

My faith make sense. It's so common sense that I dont know whether to call it a belief. My faith is a belief, though, because all faiths show some type of reverence, many by devotion; I do likewise. Reverence to nature is thanking that I am given life. It makes sense to give respect to my family: they are my blood. It makes sense to give offerings to my family and do things for my living family because I dont separate the two. Giving offerings and doing charity, for example are from the same heart. I dont know what other religious practice can make so much sense for it to be a part of my life. Thats why I like my faith. It is not something I converted to. It is a part of me.

I have always believed in Christ. I was raised by a single mom who raised my sister and me that Christ is our heavenly Father. I came to know him on my own in 2000 when I started my senior year at school
