I think Krishna is cool because of his playful nature.
Because without him coolness would not exist and neither would anything elseWhy do you think god is cool?
One of the gods is the Spirit of Winter. Quite literally, cool. Still waiting for the first decent snowfall of the year...

I think God is cool because he has long hair and a goatee. Additionally, I think he is cool because God looks baked and God smells good.

Now for a serious reply.
I think God—as in Nārāyaṇa—is cool because he does not impose or threaten but rather proposes. For instance, in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna, who many believe is actually Nārāyaṇa, explains many things to his friend Arjuna, and he doesn’t say something like, ‘Now keep all of this in your mind and do what I have told you or I will inflict you with plague and suffering.’ Instead, he says something like this: ‘Now that I have shared all of this with you, do with it as you wish.’ He apparently believed that Arjuna would do what made sense to Arjuna based on how spiritually evolved Arjuna was. From my perspective, this makes him cool. He is aware that each individual is in a different place in their spiritual journey and that they must do what makes sense to them.
