Why does the OT bible god act like a threatned king?

The bible goes on the stories of Moses, King David, etc that if you do not follow it you will be destroyed. In moses' story, moses decided to kill people who did not care of this self proclaimed god. It seems that in order to keep itself alive in moses' mind, it decided to kill people that opposed it, sounds like a human king.leader who thinks his/her territory would seize to exists due to a possibility of a threat. Moses was surely controlled.

Moses killed one man. In defence of his people. It was wrong. 40 years later he met God in a burning bush don't understand your argument. Good subject for a debate though !!

The Old Testament, in my opinion, is representative of something more. Yes there is the threat of physical death and being wiped out if you offend God, but all of this represents something much larger: Spiritual death.

When we sin (and we are all sinners) we are going to spiritually die. This death is a separation from God, not just in this life, but in the next as well. Therefore, the OT is teaching this lesson through physical means.

Dare I even ask for biblical references to what you are talking about?

Yes, but not an overly useful one. The point being suggested is that the Bible reads very much like the projections of a primitive people wherein the Kingdom of God has the appearance of an idealized Iron Age fiefdom that's been supersized.

Of course, one could also argue that God would communicate in the idiom and imagery of those He was addressing.

Threatened leaders and kings disposes of their enemies before they become threats, they alos use the strategy to convert their enemies to keep them closer to them, thus minimizing the threat. It wanted to get rid of people that would oppose it. Act of an indolent being, wants others to do things it can not do for itself. Just like a threatened king.

If you look at it this way, a king mostly do not do anything for himself, needs his subjects. It does the same thing. Threatned, because there is a risk that people might say "We do not need you in our lives". What else can it do if humanity ignores it, answer. nothing!!! The world and humanity would continue to exist without it, as the ancient Egyptians already proven, they did not believe in this self proclaimed god. Where are the Egyptians who started 3000 bc, just check Egypt.

Of course, it appears to me that if there is such this awareness that told the bible writers to convey its message to humanity, that it is coming from a being which just wants to enslave and control humanity. What would you think would happen if all of humanity just says I don't believe in it anymore. My guess is it would just go away cause it is powerless besides planting in humanities mind that it is the creator but in reality its an entity that wants to control humanity.

so u do believe in G-d!:sarcastic

The self proclaimed God is the Creator of all things, when you consider what has been created from the atom to the universe and all things seen and unseen, I think He would every right to call HimselfGod, He owns everything and wants the best for His Creation.

*shrugs* Presumably because the authors of the OT instinctively reverted to their cultural understanding of the world and their mythological traditions when trying to describe God.

As many cultures and people do.

Let's say you have lived in Israel your whole life as a Jew, when describing your experiences and Israel, you will take a different viewpoint then, let's a say a Chrsitian or a Muslim.
