Why does the Quran say: "This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed my favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion." but it says this in chapter 5 out of 114 chapters. Does that mean that Islams doctrines are only to be taken until chapter 5 and everything after that is just a pointless add-on?
Peace be on you.
Words from [ch5:v4]".......This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion......"
Please note:
1- It is an announcement that religion evolution has been made completed at Quran, it is live for ever, all necessary commandments are given for all kind of people for all ages, Quran discussed all issues related to humanity.
2-It does not say or mean, all next verses are useless.
3-These words are in line with other verses, such as:
[2:3] This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it;
it is a guidance for the righteous,
[14:25] Dost thou not see how Allah sets forth the similitude of a good word?
It is like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches
reach into heaven.
[14:26] It brings forth its fruit at all times by the command of its Lord. And Allah sets forth similitudes for men that they may reflect.
[16:90]And
remember the day when We will raise up in every people a witness against them from amongst themselves, and We will bring thee as a witness against these. And We have sent down to thee the Book to explain everything, and a guidance, and a mercy, and glad tidings to those who submit
to God.
[34:29]And We have not sent thee but as a bearer of glad tidings and a Warner, for all mankind, but most men know not.
