Why I believe God is good

The idea of The Monad is really quite ancient
Oh I get ya…

The monad has always existed and is finite in nature and is called the “one”.
God emanates from the Monad or “one”.
God made this reality and is the ultimate source of evil.

… but like I said, it’s a little to Syfy for my taste.

Yes however I think it makes more sense to attribute evil to humans

If there were no humans there would be no evil

Evil is a human thing, not a God thing

I most certainly didn't keep track of it. Why do you ask?
Because unless you've experienced these feelings and have renounced God while having them, you can't speak intelligently about what a person who is feeling this or anything else other than what you've experienced needs.

Telling others they don't need God as you and @Twilight Hue have here is, from perspective, no different than a theist telling you that you do.

Why are people so bloody worried about what others believe or don't? Perhaps some should spend more time worrying about themselves.

Why then?
The idea of a finite monad that has always existed.
The idea that god emanates from this monad.
The idea that god made this reality.
The idea that God is the ultimate source for evil.

Just all of it really. It just seems a little wishy-washy

OK but I don't see how any of that is sci-fi

I'm not arguing with you I am asking what you think

Ah, if that's a concern to you: I have experienced those feelings both before and after becoming an atheist.

Telling others they don't need God as you and @Twilight Hue have here is, from perspective, no different than a theist telling you that you do.

Generally speaking, theists, in the West and Latin America, don't come from atheist backgrounds. They genuinely don't know what it feels like to be an atheist.

Why are people so bloody worried about what others believe or don't? Perhaps some should spend more time worrying about themselves.

On this case, it is because this belief in particular is crippling.

Someone makes a simple statement of faith, and look how many of you just can't let it stand as it is.

That's really sad.
