Why is Jesus called a son?

Sariel

Heretic
Let's look at the OT. King David is referred as God's son, what does this mean? To be direct, it is a title that denotes a king of Israel, ie the Messiah. Consider what a firstborn Son is in near-eastern culture. Your firstborn son is the one who inherits all of the father's blessings and authority, and sometimes the son who is most like a father's image. Israel is also called God's firstborn, so let's not get too literal. Contrary to what most Christians may teach, the "Son of God" is a very human title. Ironically "Son of Man" denotes something more akin to divinity in the apocrypha such as the Enoch literature and 4 Ezra.

As verification of whether or not God indeed has a Son,can be found at Proverbs 30:4.
And that´s long before any NT,or Koran were written,or even thought of for that matter.
