Why is soft dinosaur tissue so little known

....while
a so called martian meteor gets refered to by Obama and Ida, the fossil du jour, may be given the 'keys' of New York City by the Mayor. Inconsistent?

Is that an example of selectively puffing or ignoring the evidence and what does it mean

see Lawsuit: CSUN Scientist Fired After Soft Tissue Found On Dinosaur Fossil

Could it be that it runs contrary to 'the party line'

Many many dinosaur bones have been found with soft tissues, at least 40 cases

Little known to you maybe. Nowadays soft tissue fossils are becoming easily recoverable from ancient specimens as well. Age is no longer a restriction.

And the reason why Armitage was fired and why the university involved probably settled out of court. There was a small chance that they would have lost the suit. It was cheaper to save massive lawyers fees by paying him off:

Soft dinosaur tissue was amazing but it is far from impossible. And of course it does not support the claims of a young Earth.

Problem, the reality is it was not 'soft tissue,' it was pliable fossilized tissue. It is no longer controversial, and commonly found. The lawsuit is a bit bogus, and does not represent the scientific issues.

As a lawyer once told me....
You can have an overwhelming airtight case, & be guaranteed to win.
And 80% of the time you will.

In this case one alleged non-PC comment was likely the cause of the offer. They probably did not spend terribly much more than they would have for the case itself.

Prolly thinking that it's money well spent.
Who wants a "scientist" thinking that The Flintstones is a documentary, eh.

I had to read what the case was about..clearly there are nut job scientists since creationism and intelligent design have zero to do with the bible. There are some who treat the bible as a science fiction come to reality text, and in a kind of rudderless religious tradition the nonsense makes sense to some. But really it's a science problem.

The problem with the publication is it contained false conclusions.
From: Soft sheets of fibrillar bone from a fossil of the supraorbital horn of the dinosaur Triceratops horridus - ScienceDirect

"Filipodial extensions were delicate and showed no evidence of any permineralization or crystallization artifact and therefore were interpreted to be soft. This is the first report of sheets of soft tissues from Triceratops horn bearing layers of osteocytes, and extends the range and type of dinosaur specimens known to contain non-fossilized material in bone matrix."

What is called non-fossilized material is collagen and other proteins within fossilized pliable material, which was trapped and did not oxidize. Finding trapped collagen, fossilized red blood cells, and other protein materials isolated from oxidation degradation is becoming common.
