Why kids are wiser than adults: how sex deforms psyche

But what a coincidence...Freud was a long chapter in my high school philosophy book and my thesis was about him.
You had a lesser education in philosophy then wasting time learning about a hack who thought boys wanna have sex with their mom, girls detest their mom for not giving them a penis and that women are morally inferior to men.
Overall he got hardly anything right.
No... because I consider men complementary to me, I don't envy them because, if I need a male body, I will have sex with a man.
According to Frued you do.
I am sorry to hear that...but most LGBTs are bullied by idiots.
I wasn't out then hadn't accepted myself.
One should get used to it and grow an armor to shield oneself.
Or you just accept kids can be ****ing monsters and stop trying to say something that happened decades ago is on me to fix.
The problem here is that adults can be much worse...
At least I can tell an adult to **** the **** off.
And are adults worse? Adults usually have better impulse control and have years of living to know why being impulsive can be a bad thing.
Are kids better? Even very young children have killed, they have hurt. Studies have even shown they display the same moral-outrage behaviors as adults. No, children won't be causing genocide, but I assure you siblings, even young, get into vicious fights.
Sex has nothing to do with it.

This thread is about adults and how they engage in sex... according to Freud...and you speak of children's quarrels.

We are biological creatures, programmed to procreate as our primary biological mandate. So, of course, when we reach the stage of development when procreation is possible, our genetic programming kicks into procreation mode, and this becomes our most important goal. Often to the detriment of sell else.

But this does begin to wane a bit for most of us as our procreative years pass, and child rearing becomes more important to the biological mandate of serving the cause of our DNA.

Most people don't have issues with. To the detrimental someone else? Or even the self, that's a no.
And biological mandate? You do know not everyone wants kids?

What I meant is that the restless search for pleasure (loveless pleasure) destroys the soul, the empathy within people.

The DNA just wants to replicate. It doesn't care about empathy or morals. Sexual intercourse feels so good because our DNA designed it that way. Lust makes us do stupid things because our DNA designed us that way. We can learn to control it and to mitigate it's effects because we are metaphysical beings, not just dumb animals. But it takes some effort, and not everyone is willing.

The title is thought-provoking, I know.
The truth is that it's absolutely inherent to what some philosophists have affirmed throughout the centuries: that children are purer than adults because they haven't known sex yet. Sex transforms people into greedy, and sex-hungry people.
It's a fact. Just read Freud's Lustprinzip and then also Totem und Tabu.

In most people the sexual development turns all kids into greedy people with the Omnipotence delirium. Or God's complex. They believe that their own sexuality comes first, and from that derives entitlement and pridefulness.

In very few people the knowledge of sexuality and sex development are idealized through a kind of katharsis, that is why they don't become greedy but see sex as something to share, something idealized.

Unfortunately it's lust and sex-hungry that transforms adults into beasts who are capable of violence and sadism.

Children are not wiser. They are just innocent and ignorant.

The problem is that brain maturity (front lobe development) lags behind sexual maturity. That's why young adults need guidance... This doesn't mean that all become maniacs. Many teenagers start to feel shame, fear... Some say that this shame is a learned emotion but In my experience it comes naturally but it can be also be affected by society/learning...

William Blake used to speak of innocence as something positive in his poems.

Very true. It depends on whether sexual maturity is instrumentalized into restless search for pleasure or is idealized into something more spiritual and meaningful.

I just said that cynicism is the direct result of an unhealthy sexuality.

That is grossly over-simplistic and, I'm sure, demonstrably false. With respect, I think you're projecting your own issues on the rest of humanity.

If that wasn't the case, there would be zero wars in our world.
Yet Freud has clearly affirmed that there is a casual link between Eros and Thanatos.
Warlike aggressive spirit and loveless lust.

No, it just means that wars (and conflict more broadly) have a multiple diverse and varied causal factors. The instinctive desire to continue and protect our genetic lines is clearly a significant one in human behaviour and society, but it is far from being the only, or even dominant one, in practice, especially not at broader societal scales.

Anyway, I was more specifically questioning your assertion that children are somehow immune from any and all of the factors that lead to conflict with sexual development (or knowledge of sex - you weren't especially clear of the mechanism) somehow turns most children in to horrific sex-driven monsters as adults. That is the part that is at best over-simplistic and at worst demonstrably false.

Very, very rare.
I never met a sadistic child.
It usually deals with children with neurological issues or maybe someone taught them.
Psychopathy / sociopathy shows its first signs at a very young age already.

Every classroom of 7-year olds with, say 20 children, will typically have 1 or 2 of those.
Regardless of parents and upbringing.

I suspect you don't have children.
I do.

I've also coached my son's soccer team for the past 4 years.
I can tell you that children in general can be absolutely brutal and vicious at times. Even the "good ones".
And with the little sociopaths, there is a clear pattern in that behavior as well, where with the others it will be more peer-pressure based.

As an adult supervisor (coach in my case) it is your responsibility to sniff that out and nip it in the butt.
Left to their own however, there will absolutely be violence, bullying, etc. There will naturally form a hierarchy of alpha's, beta's and lower tier children who will get picked on.

To think that this is an "adult" thing and "learned" behavior is just wrong imo.
It's certainly a bit different, but if you observe big groups of children, you see quickly that they are like mini-societies and that all roles we also see in adults are very much present. Sometimes even in much exaggerated form (both good and bad).

No, they certainly aren't "wiser". Far from it. They lack the life experience for such social wisdom.
They might be more honest etc. Sure.
