Why science might be useless...

It is true without reason, logic, and science, we would probably not have toilets, bridges, vaccines, and a whole host of other things.
If we were to refuse all of this to remain faithful to a God we follow, to remain filthy, diseased and underdeveloped (remind you of any place ;)) and then die which then we receive eternal paradise, then science is utterly useless.

It is useless, arrogant, mischievous, a distraction, evil, and one of the most powerful forces that has taken peoples eyes away from God.

Let us go back to the stone age and live in the dirt, die young, and enjoy our God in peace and underdevelopment.

Any wisdom in this post? :D

No, not really. :p
Science is very valuable, and God gave us brains so we can use it to our benefit. Yes, a simple life is nice, but it's unrealistic to go back to the stone-ages.

IMO

But wont those that have made life so interesting so much that our eyes are now drifting away from God, be accountable for making us so smart and seemingly have become beings that no longer need a God? :D

In fact, science will make us so smart, but will never figure out how to help us live forever. It will be so angry it can't achieve this, it will try to convince us that this notion of eternity is evil and God concepts are distracting to real work men must do, science.

Sarcasm intended, right? :D

Your entire post is based on the underlying assumptions that a) there is a God; and b) that Abrahamic assumptions about said God are correct.

If either of these assumptions are inaccurate, then the entire chain of reasoning is flawed.

Well I dunno. On one hand it could be very true, I mean if we are gonna die anyway some sooner than others, what does it really matter? If our eternal destination is dependent on our relationship with God, than isn't everything else just a distraction? In fact isn't this life a distraction. :D

Science is perhaps the biggest devil of them all  :D

More reason and logic

Does it not strike you as ironic that you used logic and reason in your OP to try to explain why we should not live by logic and reason?
But I wouldn't have had to do that had science just left me to my dirt :(
Now stop asking me logical questions... STOP IT!

BTW, logic and reason is OK, as long as it doesn't take our eyes and mind off of God. GOT IT!

Without logic and reason, there is no basis for a discussion. Without science, there is no medium for THIS discussion.

All hind sight, I'd take a mud pie and a sandbox to play in any day over this.

You see it is the years of advertising, media blitz, mis information taught to me for many years that has forced me to find an outlet like this to make sense of all the crap out there. If we just stayed dumb and stared at God, none of this would be needed.

Oh, yeah! Until smallpox came along and made your eyes bleed out of your skull, resulting in an inability to stare at God or anything else.... mind, I'm not saying horrible things don't happen now. We have epidemics to this day - but thanks to advances in sciences (medical, social, hygienic, etc.) we have the luxury of, as you put it, 'staying dumb and staring at God'. I'm all for the Old Ways in certain aspects - but I'm also all for the tangible advantages modern science grants us.

That is an unfortunate consequence of Science and developed civilizations.
I would have to agree that the fact your entire proposition is meaningless to anyone who doesn't accept the concept of the Abrahamic God is a consequence of Science and developed civilizations. Calling it unfortunate, though, is certainly an individual value judgement I don't share.

I guess science is as good a scapegoat as anything else...
Though playing cards was much more entertaining.

Ah, but what good is it if we gain the world (cure from smallpox) and lose our soul. Are you not willing to suffer a tad bit, then live forever? Why waste the effort and brain cells on science? If science can't get us right with God, what good is all its offerings? HUH? :p
