Why so much attention on male-to-female trans people?

That's all well and good, I mean, if a guy wants to take hormones to grow boobs, or have a doctor replace his junk with something that looks absolutely nothing like an actual vagina, go him. His body. His life. Whatever man.
Nice to hear that.
I only draw the line when some ethereal onus is somehow transfered to me, or to society, to grant them any special rights or considerations.

Keep your *** out da ladies room, bro.
So you would rather want to see a trans-guy like me in the ladies room, instead of trans-women whom you can't even differentiate from cis-women if you don't take an exact look into their pants?

Lol. Very few of m2f look like actual women up close. Just sayin.

Yes, yes I would. Ladies go to the ladies room. There's no dress code.

Do you know many places don't even segregate restrooms? I don't know what you are doing, but I go to do my business and go on. Most people, for this exact reason, don't really care. It's only those who want to make something that is not their business their business who care.

No one is asking for special rights or considerations.

With some surgeries and techniques, not even a gynecologist can tell the difference as it appears no different than a woman who has had a hysterectomy.

Let us know when you get some research done illustrating differences between human brains and winged seven headed dragon brains like there has been with transgendered brains, or showing actual symptoms of body dysphoria with such an affliction.

Most I met so far looked pretty much like normal women, though.

I'll report back to you when I get reported for sexual harassment the first time...

But I'm for unisex bathrooms anyway.

Being otherkin is a psychological phenomenon as well, surely, but hell, my gender disphoria is certainly the bigger issue for me than the "species" of my astral self (which changes every once in a while anyway, so who can tell whether I'm "really" an otherkin, whatever that even means).

The difference I see between gender disphoria and species disphoria is that the first is actually treatable (and much more common, I suppose). Not completely, but in a way that helps transpeople a lot and causes only very little problems with society.

How about this. Don't check out the people in the public bathrooms quite so "up close"?
I don't.

I don't think it is asking a lot to ask you to mind your own dang business in the bathroom. Take care of business and get out.
How about that?

So it would be perfectly ok for me to saunter into the ladies room and do my business then? Because you can't have it both ways.

Most of us support unisex bathrooms being the norm.
Cool, support whatever you like. Unfortunately for you, the standard is still segregated bathrooms.

How about change rooms then? Should *edit be allowed to dangle their weiners in the woman's locker room at say, a public pool?

It would feel a bit strange at first, but personally I think it would have more advantages than disadvantages.

Also, according to your former comment you think also us transguys should use women's locker rooms. It depends on the person, but transguys may also look more like males down there after using hormones for a while (and after bottom-surgery anyway). Wouldn't it be more confusing to meet a transguy in a women's locker room, than meeting people of any gender in a common locker room?

Well, from my own experiences:
I have had to use a common locker room for one of the fitness courses I participated in when I went to university (which I finished a while before I started trying to pass as male), and the males (which were much more common since most courses in the building were for body building) seemed a bit confused by my presence as some asked me if it would be an issue for me to use the same locker room as them. Many had no clue that there was only one locker room in the building and didn't seem to have a huge problem with it when I told them about that, only a bit of confusion.
Might be that females would react a bit more furious if they were the common users of the building and a male stepped in, though.

But that's when people don't expect the locker room to be a common one.
If they expect it, it would become normal. On most fitness courses I went to, many of the long-time members changed clothes in the sports hall and didn't even bother with the locker rooms.
And for completely stripping there are single-person locker rooms at those swimming pools I went to anyway.

I have to say, you've remained unsettlingly calm in the face of an unpopular opinion. It's reassuring to know you aren't all so easily 'triggered'.

In the case of the ones that have the surgically altered genitals..I guess you have a point. We don't need pseudopenises hanging in the faces of little girls changing for a swim either.

Thanks, but well, why should I? Reacting all insulted instead of trying to use arguments would be an insult to my own intelligence xD And if I had come to the conclusion that you're a hopeless case I would have ignored you anyway - it was not an easy decision, though :p

I find it a bit strange to see strangers of either sex completely naked in a locker room.
But I wouldn't assume seeing another person naked, of whatever sex or gender, does any harm to little children. Making an issue of it in front of them does them more harm at least.

Obviously, but this is an snswer to whether or not we would mind a mixture if men and women. We wouldn't.

That's already the norm in several places too. If someone is really that uncomfortable, they can go change in a stall, just like with locker rooms today. I see barring entry of the other sex with the worry that they'll do something inappropriate, or the always popular 'think of the children!' rational have no more leg to stand on than the desire to report and remove someone who is obviously gay from a segregated bathroom.

Right, so the obvious solution seems to be to dismantle cultural norms in order to accommodate a mental illness. Sounds plausible.
