Why the confusion?

Why all the debate about who is Jesus? Is he just a phophet? Is He man. Is He God? Is He somewhere in between?
We knew Him as a man. His life was spent teaching. His wisdom and authority are undeniable. He did not sin. He never wavered from His mission in this life even unto torture and death. He told us by what authority He taught. The ones closest to Him, whom He had shown His authority watched His ascension into heaven. His short public life changed mankind forever.

As elwedriddsche mentioned, there is a great deal of debate about whether he existed. The other things you mention bring up even more debate. (Did you want this in General Religious Debates, or Same-Faith Debates?)

The debate is down to teh fact that there are those whose minds question. Who do not blindly accept whaty they are told but seek evidence to support a hypotheis. You speak as if all the detail is undeniable fact, but to the best of my knowledge it is not.

This is what worries me most about religion one day you are a science fiction writer the next your ramblings are the basis of what is now considered a religion!

No one ever spoke a greater truth than Bertrand Russell and his celestial teapot.

Am I offending someone by posting this in a general forum? Maybe it should be in an historical forum. Is there an historical forum? Maybe there I could discuss the Christian slaughter in the Roman colliseum. I am sure I would have to do my homework to make sure this is historicaly accurate. Where would all those Christians come from anyway?

No, you're not offending anyone. The only reason I was asking was because the debate that is sparked by asking it in a general forum, you get a different set of responses than you would by asking it in the same-faith forum.)

(And I hope I didn't offend you by asking which you'd like it in. (From your reply, it looks like I might have.) I was just asking because I wasn't sure.)
