Why Titles?

I was talking to a friend tonight..( :flirt: to you by the way)...and she was like.."why a title" ..as far as religion goes..

MANY times I have wanted to take the title "Christian" of my name here..so at least I don't have to worry of pre-judments..that I wont be lumped in with people that have hurt others under the "titile"..(I could judt be me...ingognito!!!)

But I go to do it.(remove the title).and I feel like Im "denying" Christ if I won't even have His name associated with me . Or that Im letting people bully me..or both....Am I being superstitious?...Opinions please..

Also ..why do ya'll carry "tittles" if you do...

I suppose the problem lies with you trying to discern the difference between the 'title' of Christian and the 'label' of Christian.

I dont want to get into semantics here on this... IDENTIFYING myself as Christian under TITLE or my LABEL on MY lapel at a dinner party...

IDENTYFYING myself as Christian as a "banner" next to my name ...I have CONSIDERED removing..

Nevermind..

I'll go to Wikepedia and look up the difference between label and title..

I have no title either Dallas....I did when I first came on the RF, but changed it because I felt like people wouldn't give me a chance. I would be labeled as "Fundy" or something similar, Like you are being judged without a trial......

Well not everybody judged me..many just gave me a chance..but it was always with a challenge and a "lets see" attitude for many...

I will have to say..here is by far more a place where I can be more me than an "all Christian" forum...

Im not complaining...The people here are wonderful...But even in real life...I have to "watch" myself even to say the word "God"...at least here I can say that..

I just wonder about the "title" (SORRY Mysterious)...

Am I taken less seiously if it says "Christian"...

Unfortunately, yes, some people will look at the title/label Christian and automatically dismiss things they say.

On the other hand, there are those who see the title/label Christian and take every single thing you say and do as being representative of all Christians who are currently alive, ever lived, and will ever live.

Most people, I think, are somewhere in between.

Is Jesus a religion?

If christianity simply means one thinks Jesus/Y'shua is "more God"
than anyone else (can be), then I guess the title is descriptive.

Beyond that, IMHO, it's a mess.
You can hardly find two christians who understand the same christianity,
never mind two christian churches.

My "titles" express both who I am,
and who I am not,
and distance me a bit from staunch traditionalists.
(ie, pagan legalists)

I cast "spells".

I am "SOURCErer", as compared to "sorcerer".
I am "which", as compared to "witch".
I refuse to argue about the proper "spelling" of "magic(k)".
as I am a creative speller. thus "Majik".
(note also the M --capitol for a proper name)

I am deadly serious about everything,
yet, at the same time, take none of it seriously at all.

I think my titles/labels/spellings reflect all of this, and more.
