Why Would Humans Be Important to God?

No He doesn't, and He has trouble multi-tasking as well. Plus, His communication skills are elementary, at best, and He is equally lacking in customer service and time management abilities. Believe me, I'll never use Him as an intern again.

Hi! You raised a very interesting question. In fact, God loves all mankind very deeply? Why? Because we are all his children ( Genesis 1:27)
What God has done for us is truly amazing. John 3:16 states "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life"

From the Baha'i scriptures:

“O SON OF MAN!
“Veiled in My immemorial being and in the ancient eternity of My essence, I knew My love for thee; therefore I created thee, have engraved on thee Mine image, and revealed to thee My beauty. “

Looking at the size, age, and inhospitability of the universe, what rationale is there to think that, if there is some type of god entity, that human beings would be of any importance to it? What rationale exists to even suggest that an entity of such power and scale would even be aware of one species, that has existed on one infinitesimal speck, for an immeasurably brief flash of time?

The universe is order expressed in 'material' form.
The universe is the expression of the mind of God if the mind of God is order and structure or at least the source of it.
So in my rationale human beings are an expression of God...as are flowers bees rocks and Chlorine gas.
But what differs from a rock and a human is the quantity of order each thing posseses.
A rock is a very simple thing with low complexity conversely a human is the most complex thing we know that exists...we have not made formal contact with ET's yet to know any better or created AI..so apart from ETs & AI we are at the pinnacle not of evolution but of relative complexity and where our complexity is centred is in our brains and thus minds.
That is why God may find in Humans and other highly complex things a better conduit for 'His' manifestation/realisation within the universe...if we are all the result of the mind of God then we are in fact God knowing (in our very many individual subjective ways) the universe He created...perhaps we form a 'kaledioskope' or 'mosaic' image of the entire subjective totality in our collective entirety...we all provide the world view of the Universe as seen from Earth.

I could rattle on..but I am probably talking bollocks now..so I will see if you reply and can question some of that or perhaps clarify it...

Because the human ego is just that massive that it really thinks it's that important.

Kilgore Trout,
First, to understand God's ways, He has given us two great pieces of evidence, First Natural Religion and Revealed Religion. Natural Religion is the thing we can reason on, especially God's creation, Rom 1:18-20. No technological accomplishments even be compared with the simplest of God's creations. Just as an example the simplest living thing is so complex that there is a greater chasm between the most complex nonliving thing, and the simplest living thing, than between the simplest living thing and man. Only by specific creation could mankind be alive today.
The way our solar system is placed, scientists have even said that it appears that everything was being prepared for man to live on earth.
God prepared the earth for man, the Bible even tells us that the angels shouted in praise to God when they saw what God was doing, Job 38:7.
All the things that God has done for mankind shows that He cares for us. But all the wonderous creation sia really nothing compared to God's ultimate gift to mankind. When Adam and Eve decided to rebell against God and follow Satan instead, mankind became alienated from God with not way to become reconciled again, and have the chance that Adam had of living forever on a paradise earth.
The only way mankind could become reconciled was to have someone equal to Adam, a perfect man, sacrifice his life for us, so we could gain what was lost. God's most loved son, His Only begotten son came to earth to give his life for us, so that we could again become loved by God. Can you amagine the hurt and suffering that God went through for us, allowing His own son to die in such an agonizing way??? God allowed this for us, and do you question that God cares for us, 1Pet 5:7, Rom 5:6-11, Matt 20:28, 1Tim 2:4-6.
