Did you have your comp set for automatic updates? So I was rummaging around in RF, when suddenly my computer shut down & started installing Windows 10. As this unexpectedly & automated process takes place, I'm on my phone now.
Weird.
Very weird. Now something called Cortana wants to be my bestest buddy, & ask it questions.
i don't know.Did you have your comp set for automatic updates?
I guess so.i don't know.
That's my son's job to manage my internet surfer.
Hmmmm....it seems that I must be set up for those, since they happen automatically.
Pretty lame, eh?
My husband hates windows 10. He doesn't want any of our computers to have it. The stuff about it doesn't sound good at all.Windows 10 makes me loose more faith in humanity. It's privacy killing box that doesn't like to think too hard. Functionally it's an improvement over 8 (which really isn't saying much), but I find it awkward how they made the Start menu, and I don't like all the crap off to the side. I also hate the laziness of shortening "Programs" into "apps." I want to hit the person who decided to do that with the OED, and an English text book for every grade from preschool through doctorates.
If it wasn't for compatibility I wouldn't use Windows at all. A good chunk of stuff I can do on Linux, but some stuff I have to have Windows for, mostly for Word - Word doesn't like formatting files from Libre (the Linux word processor), and Libre doesn't like formatting files from Word. Between school and a slowly growing writing and editing portfolio, I was forced to admit that I am stuck with at least one computer having Windows, which tends to be my main computer as I do a lot of PC gaming and Linux is hit-and-miss with compatibility. My husband hates windows 10. But Windows 10 just sucks anyway you look at it. It has all this Cortana stuff (which makes me laugh since they got the name from the Halo game series), it doesn't like doing things it normally doesn't do, but it loves gathering and sending your information.
