With the pandemic things are starting to get real out there

I have just returned from buying my normal groceries. And it's quite calm, still, around here. There are some shortages on the shelves, but I was able to get most of the items on my list.

I think we will all be fine unless the illness becomes so severe that it takes out most or all of our supply chain workers. Or if it lasts so long that the economy begins to unravel.

The economy begins to unravel? How much worse can it get?
Don't answer that. ;)

So, are you saying that the Wall Street Wheel of Fortune economy does not matter and that it has no bearing on the "real economy?"
When the sh*t hits the fan, as it may well do, then Wall Street becomes irrelevant. Just the CEO of GiantXMegaCorp likewise becomes irrelevant.

When the sh*t hits the fan, as it may well do, then Wall Street becomes irrelevant. Just like the CEO of GiantXMegaCorp becomes irrelevant. They are part of an abstract, parasitic "middle-man" economy created by capitalists. They are not the real economy of production/consumption.

maybe...possibly this could be the crumbling of the facade they are....the powers that were
whose money is that anyway, defined in their own internal documents as being no more than a specie of coupon, scrip....walls may tumble down

What do you mean by sh*t hitting the fan?
What do you mean by irrelevant?
I mean when we rediscover what has real value vs. the make-believe values created by professional liars and con-men on Wall Street, Madison Ave., and in Washington DC.

I was not asking about values, I was asking about the economy, unless you think that we can live without money?

What do you think are the make-believe values created by professional liars and con-men on Wall Street, Madison Ave., and in Washington DC?

We can live without money. But for that to happen we would have to survive a near total upheaval in our physical and social experience of being. I don't even want to contemplate it.

That greed is good. That decadence warrants respect. That exploitation is the divine right of 'kings'. That competition is self-justified. There's more, but God knows, these are bad enough!

well, they are in more of a virtual reality aren't they.. making money by manipulating the flow of money never really looked that tangible to me. If they whine harder and catch media attention, maybe it looks like the end of the world but it really isn't

This thread has gone so far off topic. No one has watch the video. It's really sad. Mods, you might as well lock this thread down.

I don't see why not, I mean crop yield or general ag yield has probably gone up like a thousand percent since a hundred years ago

How is wall street manipulating the flow of money?

What isn't the end of the world, the stock market crash?
Do you think it will rebound so it is no big deal?

How do you envision living without money?
I see no problem with money as long as people do not worship money. I am sure you know what Jesus said about that. Moreover, money can be used to help others, it is not always used for selfish purposes and materialism.

So competition is bad? Do you believe in socialism?
Do you think all rich people are greedy and decadent?
Do you think that everyone who makes money in the stock market is exploiting others?
What about middle-class people who made investments for their retirement? Are you happy to see them suffering from a market crash?
