"The authors of the study—published by the Public Library of Science—looked into data from previous researchers on 63 living societies across the world that still practice hunting and gathering, then investigated how women participated in the hunting in various societies, what they hunted and what tools they used."

I don't think it's safe to assume that modern hunter-gatherers are necessarily reflective of pre-historic ones. Just a thought.

Scientists assume consistency until disproved, not the other way around.
And this study confirms the hypothesis that women did hunt as well as men in prehistoric hunter-gatherer tribes based on injuries typical of hunting accidents (especially with big game).
