Nice poem :) It's strange that some Christians try to predict it. Which is strange because I don't see any other religious groups that predict it as much as these types of Christians. Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu, Zoroastrians believe in the end times but these Christians get the spotlight for some reason.

Thanx!
It's a rerun from a couple years ago.

It's ending again!? I wish they'd get it right, because I'm tired of the PAST DUE notices I get for not paying bills, thinking the world is going to end.

You know, I've never once seen a Heathen try to predict Ragnarok. Or a Zoroastrian try to predict end times. Even Muslims usually stay out of the spot light. It's funny these kinds of Christians are predicting it, while other Christians are just face palming. xD

If the Cubs win tonight, it may well mark the beginning of the end of the world as we have known it. Just sayin':p

Someone just made a lot of money I think. People like these world ending scares and dump their savings on the guys who predict them.

I wonder why because if the world would end, all the money in the world isn't going to do any good. xD

I haven't seen three winters snow, fall in a row. When that happens, and we see some burly red-headed guy with a big ****-off hammer smack a giant snake in the head, I'll believe the world is ending. Til' then, I'll feel fine.

That's because Heathens can't decide if it happened already, has yet to happen, is a metaphor for the natural cycle of things, a Christian interpolation, or something else. :D

Yeah, that too.

I'm waiting for other Christians to tell them and say "Look no one know when it will end except for God. Its right there in the bible!"

For those interested (particularly if you're of the occult persuasion), a podcast that covers this very topic: Apocalypse Not with John Michael Greer. Greer is the Archdruid of AODA, who wrote a book about apocalyptic predictions and their history. Book is probably worth checking out too, as the podcast interview had many insightful things in there. One of the most salient points that I found emerging from the interview was that apocalyptic narratives are in part a way for people to avoid taking responsibility for their lives. Much of what we call human suffering involves long, protracted demise which is how the real world works the vast majority of the time. Sudden ends, or apocalyptic scenarios, are appealing for those who are in a state of suffering. It'd be interesting to look and see if there's some correlation between repetitious embrace of apocalypse scenarios and mental disorders like depression and anxiety.

Some like to do it just for attention and get their 15 minutes of fame. However I don't think the idea of the world being in turmoil is impossible. Who's to say aliens won't invade earth or we end up destroying ourselves accidently with our advanced technology or the Earth goes through major changes? We won't know until it happens really.
