World's youth return to the streets to fight climate change

'Young people around the world began taking to the streets on Friday to demand urgent action to avert disastrous climate change, in their largest protest since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The strike takes place five weeks before the U.N. COP26 summit, which aims to secure more ambitious climate action from world leaders to drastically cut the greenhouse gas emissions heating the planet.

"Everyone is talking about making promises, but nobody keeps their promise. We want more action," said Farzana Faruk Jhumu, 22, a youth climate activist in Dhaka, Bangladesh. "We want the work, not just the promises."'

It is good to see the youth taking an active interest in their future.

In my opinion.

WOW, those are RICH young people (all two hundred of them - great photo angle) to be able to buy all the promotional materials. And they are real smart to organize it so well!

LOVE those youth!!!

And love the media that was there to record this momentous event! They are certainly on their toes for the latest on what is happening all over the world!

I predict that they will be completely ignored.
If there was a real crowd of thousands, it wouldn't be. As a prop, even as important as the subject might be, it is to be expected to be ignored.

Unfortunately because they don't have a vote, you are correct
All that matters is the great money pump must be kept running and generating profits for the wealthy elites no matter what. The environment is irrelevant. And so are our young people who are concerned for it. In fact, people in general are irrelevant, except that they serve the needs of the money pump, and benefit of the wealthy elites that control the course of humanity.

Careful Ken, you might come across as a cynic and still clinging to Trump's flapping coat tails.

Of the media... :) I am! :)

EDIT

And of people (on any side) using a propped manufactured effort to push an agenda... that too.

Of course if 10,000,000 poor and uneducated were demonstrating for leaving the Earth in better shape for future generations, that too would be excoriated by those who don't believe God wants us to care for Mother Earth.

Do I smell sarcasm mixed with complete ignorance?

The demonstrations were not only in Berlin, they were distributed all over the world. Even in the sleepy town of the backwaters of my neck of the woods there was a demonstration with about 100 people, one third of them children and teenagers who did the organization and did it well.

Need more than a viewpoint. "All over the world" is very subjective. It could be 3 in different countries. 100 is relative if there are 200 total in your neck of the woods or 30,000 or 300,000. I would like to understand how the "teenagers did it" without adults.

You didn't need them for your first post.

You can be a teenager (eighteen) and an adult and a pupil at the same time.
