Would You Rather...

Would you rather be wrong and happy, or right and miserable?

It depends. I rather be wrong and happy if I know being wrong won't be detrimental to my life. What's wrong with being wrong if it doesn't hurt others or oneself?

I rather rather be right and miserable because if I had a terminal illness, because I feel I have a right to know what's going on and address my mental and physical destraughtness while in the know.

My question is why does right have to be with miserable and wrong with happy?

I wouldn't say right and miserable are opposites of each other. That, or people see themselves as internally miserable and feel bad when they associate themselves as right and happy. They need a balance.

In my experience, "wrong and happy" is only ever a momentary thing. "Wrong and happy" usually turns to a worse version of "right and miserable" when the world inevitably corrects your mistaken understanding.
This.
As long as reality won't come back and bite you because you're wrong being happy is better. If believing Jesus will save you after death makes you happy, fine. Being wrong about the importance of that grindy noise coming from the brakes on the car could make you very unhappy when you find out the truth by crashing.

It seems you can split the world into sorts of people. Those who live for happiness, and those who live to achieve a purpose or goal. It's easy to imagine the former picking "wrong but happy", and the latter picking "right but miserable".

It depends on the situation. Sometimes one could be right and miserable, while waiting for something to occur afterwards that will make them happy.

...Like telling your partner to save money and stay home bored, in preparation for a fun filled future vacation.

I'd rather live in a state of flux in between the two

Anything else would be too boring for me
