No... because in leading a free country, one would have to do as the people wish and do what is best for the people as a whole, that may not always jive with my personal beliefs and I would find it very hard to compromise.

For example, unless a country were invading and declaring war on Amercia, and the threat was immediate, I would find it very hard to send our soldiers into any war or conflict.

I voted, yes, because I'm tired of living in an apartment. Really, though, it's the greatest country in the world and it would be amazing to be the first woman president.

Yes. Completely. I'd be interested in Nuclear War, with say China. I'd go to war with China... I'd get them out of Tibet, etc.. I'd plan for the future in space with a program to occupy Mars for real someday. I'd end all funds for other nations. I wouldn't talk in stupid riddles like the republicans and democrats do. I'd actually speak. I'd actually say something valid. I'd find and find and find. I'd use every resource at my command to further along our greatness. I'd never stop driving and driving and driving. That's what power is really about. I'd need much more money for the nation. I would implement many wide ranging plans both unique and favorable to human existance. I wouldn't forget that danger is just around the corner and war is necessary. I'd be honest about who I am. I wouldn't weaken myself with diatribes and "false motos". . . yes i would want to be the president.

I'd be very controversial though.

You might say I'd be the Independent.

Hehehe and The Devil is not electible.

I have enough trouble controlling my own life - it would be ludicrous to think I should control the lives of millions.

I wouldn't like to be President because I don't think I would like the person I would have tobecome in order to get to that level.

i wouldnt.... maybe cuz im not too american. ya, look at me, a gay indian. hahah. that'll be the day.
if i could, i still wouldnt. i may do something wrong and then ill be blamed and my future lives will be affected by my bad karma. ill just take risks in things that im capable of handling.

yes, go to war with china. i mean, i LOVE LOVE LOVE chinese culture, but i hate it when they took over tibet. were was america? were was britain? sheesh. and they now go into iraq? oh bother. its all for oil. has anyone seen kundun? i cried. it was soo sad. but i believe there was a purpose that the 14th dalai lama was kicked out, i mean, if he wasnt, then he couldnt have visited so many cities and spread the messege of peace and love and compassion.

yay.

Yes, Not only would I love to be president, That is currently my long term goal. Speaking of which, what kind of qualities does everyone look for when they vote for a president. (I.E. schooling, military background, public service, personal life)

No, I would rather be vice-president. The man behind the man. The man who is almost as important, but does not have to make the tough decisions and be judged by them.

No...it's an awesome responsibility and I don't think I'm up to it. I can't even find my shoes in the morning.

Plain and simple, I voted no, because the american public would conspire to kill an ATHEIST president. Or I would have to lie to get into office by saying I believe in a god, and I am too moral for that.

I voted no.

First, I wouldn't want the stress. Second, I don't think I'm qualified. Third I know I will never make anyone happy with it. Someone would find cause to despise me and thus increase stress. Lastly, I would rather live a simple life.

I definitely would NOT want to be president or hold any other political office, because then I would not be free to follow my own moral principles an convictions. As a politician, one must bend one's own thinking and actions to meet the demands of the "party line," lobbyists and financial supporters.

I belief the most moral and honest President we ever had was Jimmy Carter, but he failed as a president and was not reelected because he refused to compromise his integrity, lie or even "candy coat" the truth, as did Ronald Reagan. Reagan made people feel good, even when things were going badly. Carter always presented the truth, even when it made people feel bad. People don't like to feel bad, and vote accordingly.

I do not think I could be the President Of The United States, I couldn’t afford the stringent campaigning fees.

I've been thinking about this more and more, as I engage in the horror of actually reading about the current administration.

If the people are willing to have a president that promotes religious (and atheism, for those that wish it) and cultural diversity and understanding, is openly pagan but does not force her ideas on others, who does not lie to her people and who works to be sure she understands everything about the world and its history, then I would wish by that time to become president.
