Wrestlers Who Made An Impression

I was a big time Jimmy "Superfly" Snooka fan back in the day. No one could fly off the top rope like him. And the time in Piper's Pit when Roddy Piper hit him in the head with a coconut was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.

Loved Roddy. In fact...here's both him and Hennig.
Mr. Perfect was another I forgot to mention, and that match was a great one.
I've been an Edge fan for a while. Awesome presence, and awesome personality. His wife was awesome too. Beth Phoenix was great.

I've loved Edge since his WWF debut. I especially loved how he came out of the audience for his entrance.
Kurt Angle could sell it with the best of'm.
Dang, he was quick.
Him, the Steiner Brothers, Iron Sheik. The "real" wrestling background really shown through and made them great. But Kurt Angle was also brilliant on the mic and a very entertaining character you loved to hate.

To give the devil his dues, I also have to include Mr. McMahon. He really screwed over Bret Hart, and not just as a part of the show but a legit screw job, but at the same time the evil Mr. Mac-Mahon really sold very well as the ******* corporate executive, and it provided the cannon fodder for Stone Cold Steve Austin that launched his career to Pluto and back, and is pretty much what saved the WWF from being consumed by WCW.
I also have to give credit to Shawn Michaels, because the feud between him and Bret Hart, though very tense, and blurring the lines between the show and personal life enough to cause problems in their personal lives, and turning friends into legit bitter enemies, it was a great feud. It just got to be a bit too real.
And of course Triple H, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, someone who is a terrific wrestler and was never boring on the mic.
And speaking of the mic, Chris Jericho and the Rock deserve a ton of credit, because what they may have lacked in wrestling skills (especially the Rock), they more than made up for it any time they touched a mic or stood in front of a camera for an angle.

I'm sure I missed a couple. The memory isn't what it used to be.

In any case, good memories. Went to several matches. Great stuff.

What I admired about Superfly was his incredibly toned and defined physique. When you look at him there is a tendency to think dammm.... That muthas's STRONG!!!

Funny on how I so despised "nature boy" Rick Flair back in the day, but since he appeared in my Command and Conquer game one day, he's now among my all time favorites.

I vote Mean Gene as an honorary wrestler trained by no other than the Hulkster.

=0)

Hulk Hogan training Mean Gene Okerlund:

The Big Show never quite had the charisma to be one of the greats,
but he has his moments......

He has gotten to the point of annoyance to me now, always out with his daughter. Seems like he's holding on too long and too tight to the life of WWE.

Wonder if WWE will do a tribute. They tend to do such when a former wrestler dies, but they have ignored her for so long now, I just wonder. I hope they do.

They better do a tribute, especially if Triple H is still in charge (is he still in charge, I don't follow wrestling anymore?).
