Yasir Arafat has died. What effect will this have on the Middle East peace process? Will the peace process finally proceed or will this bring even more violence to the area?
I have not the faintest hunch what his death means to the peace process. But I bet that half the capitals in the world are asking that same question tonight.
It's doubtful that Palestine and Israel will ever have peace as two entities. Having your ancestors land given away by someone who doesn't own it must smart, and the resentment will likely last a long time. Now that they're stuck with each other how about a joint state? Nothing resemblant to what's in place at the moment though.
i don't know where it will lead either. It is a very complicated situation. A good source for palestine info from the palestines is here.. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/am/publish/
its not a pretty picture but than it really never has been. I have to say that with articles like those above on their major publications with propoganda like that is going to be a source of a lot more sucide bombers and death in the garza.
