Your calling.

What is your calling?

First it was to be a nun, then a priest in between the one day I want to write a novel (since elementary school when I had my book "published" by the school).

Now just to live in a state of devotion and prayer without a faith other than life itself.

:fallenleaf:

Im working with individuals like myself with Epilepsy, loved ones, and supporters. Developing a calling focused on service as well.

My "calling" is on a need to know basis. What you don't know, won't hurt you.... well, much...

You like to make the same post on multiple forums. Yet, you never seem to participate on any of those forums beyond making an initial thread starter.

How about finally coming out from behind the curtain, first to define what you mean by "calling", and then for you to state what you consider to be your calling.

Seemingly, mine is to support and help others while receiving little to no support or help for myself. To be used up until there's nothing left. It seems to be my dharma.

I read that a calling is "a strong urge toward a particular way of life or career; a vocation..."

People expected I was going to follow my father in business and construction but I chose a different path.

When I told my parents I was going into Social Work they laughed and asked if it paid anything ... Well it didn't pay a lot but there were some perks and dividends and was a secure employment.

I had a career in Social Work and worked for County governments- juvenile court in the area of children's services.. as well I worked for an agency that served disabled people. I also had a brief stint working as a Psychiatric Social Worker in a Hospital and was an acting director of a Family Services agency..so I had multiple ways I was serving people.

If you go by my behavior, my calling seems to be drinking too much beer and fornicating with my own right hand.

If you go by what brings me happiness, it's making people laugh, drinking too much beer, and fornicating with my own right hand.
