Your fav "love" songs...

blackout

Violet.
I'm almost ready to start gigging again
but have realized over the past few days
that I really am short some good feel good love songs
especially for the lighter restaurant type gigs.

The thing about love songs is I HATE sap! lol

So what are your favorite pop/rock love songs?
(I already know the jazz standards ;))

oh yes... and an opinion question.
for example I love "You look wonderful tonight"
but it's written from the male's point of narrative.
Should I just sing it anyway,
without making it a gender issue
cause its a song everyone loves?
Or are there plenty of other good ones I should just do instead? :D

Full title and artist much appreciated!
(also youTube links WONDERFUL.)

Thanks,
Vi

I often sing songs made for a female.

Among my favorites are "Total Eclipse of the Heart," as sung by Bonnie Tyler, "Hello," by Lionel Richie (though I'm not a fan of him myself), and "Time in a Bottle," by Jim Croce.

I don't know about love songs... I've got a lot of nice hate songs that I like though.

Perfectly WONDERFUL hate songs I'm sure,
but we wouldn't want anyone choking on their steak,
or choking their blind date, or spouse, or mother in law
between courses on account of my repertoire...

Not real good for repeat business. :D

i would not be bothered about the gender issues

Chris de Burgh - Lady in Red
(cant get more corny than that, but still a classic for smushy songs)

(.edit..just re reread the title of op....its not MY favourite though, so dont think badly of me)

You know, I like that Captain and Tenille song "Love Will Keep Us Together". I just love the lyrics. And it's an upbeat, non-sappy kind of thing. I once went to a fancy wedding and the processional was a sing-along of this tune. I couldn't stop smiling the rest of the day!

Let's go racing boys !
I think " Unchained Melody " is a beautiful song also "Up Where We Belong"
Since both came from movies which I loved, Awwwwww Romance, love
I guess I like a storybook ending:hugkiss:
