Aah, but isn't it true that the wall will benefit the middle class in the long run? Less kids dying of fentanyl and opioid overdoses. Less cocaine. Less poverty. Less prison population... These things benefit Americans.
Except that the wall will not produce a single one of these results.

Are you honestly suggesting the Washington Times is printing fake news?

The NBPC’s survey, of more than 600 agents in two of the Border Patrol’s busiest sectors, found just the opposite: A stunning 89 percent of line agents say a “wall system in strategic locations is necessary to securing the border.” Just 7 percent disagreed.

I am not suggesting it, I know they do.

Now were is the actual survey itself?

After Hungary constructed a series of powerful border fences in response to the European migrant crisis, illegal immigration there declined by 99 percent; this should be a good indicator of how a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border will significantly reduce illegal immigration into the U.S. from Mexico.

Hungarian border barrier - Wikipedia

About half of illegal immigrants enter the U.S. from illegal border crossings; the other half are here because they've overstayed their Visa. This means an effective border security barrier would reduce illegal immigration by nearly fifty percent, which is a good start towards fighting illegal immigration.

A good compromise between no barrier and a concrete wall would be a steel slated barrier with strategically placed patrol towers. Also, a merit based system for granting work permits to foreigners who are skilled laborers wanting the privilege of being employed with a high paying job in the United States. Furthermore, an end to chain migration.

I so no reason why anybody concerned with effective border security should object to the above stated proposals.

Why do you want to "chip" people..? Let's not cheapen an honest thread with such ridiculous ideas.

This thread was a lie from the start; you set it to seem as if you wanted to get's other people's views, but really you just wanted to promote the wall.

Caught does not equate a reduction in crossings in itself. Less effective border security can and does lead to less reports and detainment. Ergo a distortion based on a nonsensical application of statistical knowledge vs unknowns.

The reduction referred to 'attempted' crossings not those caught at crossing.

So you don't believe there is any portion of the border that has a wall?

Coming from someone who clearly seems to want to chip immigrants against their will, I'm not sure I'm interested in playing. Sorry.

But yes, the NBPC suggests a more encompassing wall would be effective.
