Oh, it is actually a form of respect in our culture to call someone, (not the same age as we have) in titles such as 'Auntie' (aunt), Uncle, grandma, grandpa, etc. instead of addressing by names
So, what do you think of the idea of 'monopolizing' this thread?
you call strangers auntie as well? by stranger i mean people who's not related to you with blood..
think? i don't know. what do you think i should think?
.
Adam Lambert is so good... He would be my idol only if he haven't done those 'kissing' and other not so good stuffs during his shows and tv appearances...

he has a strong voice and he looks like a Mad Max character and what kissing? he did not kiss anyone
.
Oh, I was referring to his concerts. He did kiss a guy, a minor I think.
you confused auntie haha
.
alright..so he is gay. how old is he and how old the minor he kissed? did he lose his chance to become your idol by kissing a guy or kissing a minor?
.
lol, you can't call a male auntie And also, we address such titles for those that are about 2+ years older (brother, sister in english) than us or how they are related to us by blood (but if I consider someone family, I would call him/her such titles)
in here most of people would call others (even complete strangers) sister or brother.
if a lady was very old, she could be called 'mother' (i do that). but your tradition is interesting IMO. i wuld not call someone who's 3 years older than me with a special title. interesting.
so at your age it is OK to call someone 21 years old 'auntie'? strange but i personally admire titles of respect in a soceity
.
Same here.
That would fall to the category of bro and sis.
Yep, especially if I'm his/her nephew.
lol i guess i misunderstood. i thought you're saying you'd call 2 years older 'auntie'
.
Well, that's okay. We give a lot of titles to respect other people
curious about something. is English your mother language?
PS: now don't say it is your auntie language
.
how do you say auntie in your language? do you use latin alphabet? i always thought you speak English in your nation. don't know why
.
Just the same, but sometimes, we don't include the 'i' in auntie and will be pronounced 'ante'. No, we don't use latin. We also use the Romanticized alphabet, with a little addition. English is given an importance in our basic education,
