Where do you get all your info about the world from?

These few websites have become my window on the world:

I seriously need to broaden my outlook, this is seriously impoverished.......

At 5pm every day I am going to force myself to listen to PM on BBC Radio4

That should do the trick

In terms of "news", I try to read a number of sources in a number of countries, particularly the U.S., Turkey, Russia, Brazil, France, Korea, more or less regularly, and a number of other nations less often.
I also follow a few science sites, especially biology and astronomy. some sites relating to archaeology, history, and various religions, in a somewhat hopeless attempt to keep up to date in those areas.
I take courses in things I know little about, in order to get an understanding of the aesthetics and skills that people have, which I haven't recognized before. For example, I am taking a couple of courses on "fashion" and "fashion design". I have recently begun watching select police and court videos (almost exclusively U.S., but Gaelic and other Anglo-Saxon countries as well) in order to better understand court procedures and established interpretation of laws.

RF, and even then, I limit which forums I participate in.

I can't handle the news. And knowing doesn't help a damned thing. The world doesn't care what I think/feel.

My opinion on this is very unpopular.

For non-news learning about the world, I have a very nice personal library, and Google does nicely. Sometime the randomstreetview site is fun to play with.

I have two news sources that feed my Facebook page: PBS Newshour & DW News out of Germany. If these sources give me something I want more information on, which is rare as they generally cover their stories thoroughly, I'll Google the subject to see what else is out there.

I may add NHK World out of Japan as I used to follow them for an Asian perspective, and I do miss that view.
I need to find one for South America.

I don't limit myself to the 'big' or 'reliable' sources. If it's true, it's not biased regardless of who reported it and could care less about alleged reputations.

I do however try to cross reference various sources and it's pretty easy to see where the embellishments are and where the truth lays as you compare stories and news reports looking for consistency.

For websites I am mostly trapped on reddit and Instagram.

For news:
  • CBC
  • NPR
  • The Guardian (Although aspects of their reporting have started to **** me off lately)
  • Telesur
  • Haaretz
  • Al Jazeera
Sometimes the Reykavik Grapevine for a good-news pallet cleanser.

Clearly that's the best one so far. No one can match their large number of dedicated investigative journalists and fact-checked reporting.
Hey...their tagline is "America's Finest News Source."

Seriously though, I was wondering if anyone would catch that.

Nicely done!

Mostly TLDR Channels; A Different Bias; a smattering of Vox and Al Jazeera; the occasional DW or BBC video, or The Guardian, Slate or Salon article; and some posts from The Atlantic.

Oh, and some Brazilian channels too. I avoid fascistic media, so it is mostly Rede Globo, My News, Canal Meteoro, Canal Meio.

Of those Brazilian media, Meio is the only one that has halfway decent awareness of international news, though.

Thought this was about Twin Towers.

News-reel on my phone, usually. Often other folks tell me.
