YouTube"s foul play again: Censorship proven

Big Tech works towards more censorship and thereby dominating the world, even spreading more fake news, and they do it on purpose, selectively censoring certain reporters and others not. Dictatorship in Big Tech, the biggest threat nowadayas for democracy.

Too bad we have to fight Big Tech, which should be just a platform, but which acts as judge and executor nowadays

After 2000 years Christian Big Lie "Only Jesus is The Only Highway" I hope we are smart enough not to allow Big Tech hegemony for the next 2000 years, that might be more damaging than Christianity at its worst.

I do not think WION should have been blocked, however I think you have not substantiated your claim that Big Tech spreads fake news here.

In my opinion.

I did not substantiate it, but it's a logical conclusion

Fake News
Censorship
Withholding Truth
Brainwashing

All contribute to spreading fake news

BUT censorship is the worst, hence it is seen in 1 of the first steps dictators use. Big Tech being the Digital Dictator here.

I rather have kilos of fake news than 1 gram of censorship

Banning WION = Spreading fake News that WION is "bad"
(Which is censorship and 1000 times worse than just fake News)

What makes WION a preferable media source? There are many reputable global news sources. YouTube isn't banning the BBC or Reuters.

It doesnt have to be preferable to avoid being banned, and if you watch the video it appears that Reuters shared the same clip and didn't get banned.

So I would speculate someone happened to see the clip on WION, got offended and reported it, then an algorithm probably took over.

In other words it wasn't a fair process that got WION banned but allowed Reuters and BBC.

In my opinion.

You totally missed the point of the OP = Danger of censorship

Exactly, this being the point. Not normal censorship BUT selective censorship = Road to Digital Dictorship = Real Dictatorship

Definitely not the case

Because the video clearly proves that WION has contacted YouTube immediately BUT was still banned 7 days, where normally YouTube should solve such important mistakes on their side in hours (7 days loss of revenue should be a big lawsuit, as this is obviously censorship...

never give in an inch to "aspiring dictators"...Digital is Real)

First, YouTube is a private company, they can choose what to publish. This is not censorship.
Second, YouTube removes content all the time, citing guideline violations. This has been a problem for professional content providers for some time now. If the free market would function as free market economists tell us it does, YouTube would lose business to a competitor. It doesn't.
This is not a failure of "Big Tech", it is a failure of the market and with it, a failure of democracy. You, the content provider and everyone else can democratically choose to not visit YouTube any more and go to a competing site instead.

There are other, more complicated legal issues here, i.e. the question whether YouTube is a platform or a publisher. The answer to that might spur government action.

True

Big problems I foresee, unless there is Full Freedom of Speech, hence it's paramount

No one is owed a platform and all platforms have their own rules. Twitter, Facebook whatever.
If you violate those rules (and aren’t profitable to them) then they will kick you off. They are inconsistent, true. And they will unfairly target content creators for a variety of reasons.True.
But that’s not censorship. Censorship is the government literally telling you that you cannot say what you want on your own property.
Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.

Also YouTube is a business. If it makes money they will do it. They don’t care about anything else lol

You missed the clue (or saw only part of the video)
I saw the whole video and it is nothing new. YouTube guidelines are arbitrary enough that one content evaluator may decide one way and an other the other way. That also has happened before. You don't have a right to publish your free speech on a private platform (even though the platform owner may let other do it).

This is muddled thinking. YouTube is a commercial operation with stated terms and conditions of service. Of course it censors content. In fact it gets into trouble for not doing so enough, from time to time. No organisation is required to put out content that it disapproves of. It is not an arm of government, and there are plenty of alternative channels someone can pick to get a message out in public.

The irony is that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act protects internet providers from lawsuits, as they are not considered "publishers."

So, in other words, there is absolutely no compelling business reason for taking an active role in determining what content goes up or what should be taken down.

What needs to happen is that the government will need to make a firm decision as to whether big tech companies should be legally viewed as publishers or as utilities. If they are publishers, then they can be sued or held legally liable for anything and everything that shows up on their platform. If they are utilities, then they would be protected from lawsuit, but would also be prohibited from discriminating based on the content or political views of their customers. Just like the electric company can't cut people off for political or other willy-nilly reasons.

I just saw a YouTube about new rules (in Europe) to control Big Tech big time, as in keeping them in check and IF they violate these laws the fines can be incredibly high (they had not censored that video...:D).

So, my wish got granted :) very quick (that Big Tech will be controlled more), although I am not a fan of such crazy high fines, but maybe that's the only way to get them behave well
