Estimate to fix damage:
$17,636

The shop says it's cheap because it's just replacing parts.
No structural damage other than the radiator mount.
(The fan alone is about $1,700.) And the airbags dint go
off....those things are many thousands to replace.

Is it a fan made of gold?

Same thing happened with my nephew in North Carolina. And it almost happened with me, on a Harley. Which that would be awful for 3, the poor deer, the rider and most tragic of all.... the poor Harley. I dunno. The Harley would probably pull through.

Tis that time of the year.

I got one of those that I'm using now, but it didn't cost that much. Must be a heck of a computer.
When it's attached to a car's fan, the price skyrockets.
BTW, I have comprehensive insurance with $500 deductable.
We paid cash, so we didn't have to get such fancy coverage.
But I'm sure glad we did.
We're even entitled to a free rental car, but turned it down.
No need. I also authorized using non-OEM & even used
parts where they think appropriate. We have a great insurance
underwriter (Hanover), & we won't waste their money.

It is amazing how expensive car parts, even used, have gotten. My mirror cost me over $500.

And it does have to do with computers. The units don’t have computers in them but all sorts of sensors that attach to computers

I replaced the left mirror once on my F350.
(This was before they folded forward without breaking.)
The new part was not only spendy, but the guy
in the mirror was a lot older looking.

I know.
But the joke was funnier with "computer" than "sensors".
(The latter likely cost more to make.)

If you admitted to any such thing,
I'd see it as a sign of weakness.
WEAKNESS!!!! NEVER!!!!!
