New boosters coming soon

It looks like it very well could be a yearly/semi-yearly thing with the shots. Which among you are going to roll up your sleeves yet again for another shot?

"The Biden administration plans to urge all Americans to get a booster shot for the coronavirus this autumn to counter a new wave of infections, a White House official said on Sunday.

The official said that while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are reporting an increase in infections and hospital admissions from the virus, overall levels remain low.

On Thursday, Moderna (MRNA.O) said initial data showed its updated COVID-19 vaccine is effective against the "Eris" and "Fornax" subvariants in humans."

I work at a university. The living conditions some students dwell in is a natural breeding ground for the spread of respiratory illness. When I first started the job, I didn't bother with annual flu shots in spite of them being offered at no cost for all employees. For the first few years of the job, I got sick once or twice a year.

Then I decided to stop being an idiot and get annual flu shots. Stopped getting sick. Imagine that?

The same logic applies with coronavirus boosters. I'm done being an idiot - I rather like the fact that I've only gotten ill once within the last five years, thanks. And it is beyond ridiculous that this subject is even "political."

I agree none of it should have became political.

Probably. At least for a while. It is similar to having to get a flu shot, especially if one is over 60. The Covid virus, just like the flu virus evolves constantly.

Uh huh. That was predicted early on amd we've already seen patterns to indicate this. I got it last year early in a wave that hit here.

Considering how rough covid was with the vaccine I'll definitely be getting it.

Myself and others here said that after the second shot in one of the covid threads before it was predicted

No, scientists who actually specialize in the field started predicting it almost immediately, as the fact the vaccines would probably be a routine thing like the flu vaccine.

But lets not forget how the heat would kill it come summer.
How once everyone got the shot it would be conquered and gone in a year
How when the first booster came out it would be all thats needed
How etc etc lol

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Or we could just let even more people get sick, let the hospitals get more flooded and let even more people die.
Except the lockdowns and such aren't happening anymore and covid is now primarily a threat to those who think the science and medicine is all nonsense.
True for the moment, but pathological mandaters will mandate.

Covid mainly killed the old, the weak and those with underlying health conditions. Its even killed those that took shots.

Over 60 here. Never took a shot. Had covid once, lost smell and taste for about 5 days. Never was sick in anyway.
