  • i'm so glad to be here too. i thoroughly enjoy your insight as well, and i try to instill upon people that i absolutely abhor the actions of extremists. they truly damage the image of Muslims beyond even what's visible on the outside. the way they brainwash and control the minds of the young...it makes me ill.

thanks for the kinds words, Alceste; i look forward to chatting with you. :D
That's quite an interesting analysis. It places quite a bit of importance on social interaction, doesn't it?

By the way, I would certainly agree you are a radical. But I think you must already know that everyone who possesses any understanding at all is to some extent a radical these days. The conventional wisdom just doesn't hack it. The mainstream understanding is a joke.

I grow increasingly fond of Krishnamurti's line: "It is no virtue to be well adjusted to a sick society." Some days I think that's the main thing age has done for me: Helped me to see just how sick is society.
Yeah. There's no substitute for another person's input -- even in adversity. We are, after all, social animals (a fact I enjoy dwelling on for the benefit of my conservative friends) and we create our world through our interaction with others.
I think the shows I posted are probably expired

LOL, don't even bother asking me was here this year....

    Not even a single demonstration.
Yeah, I have some friends in the Portland area, and apparently the area is the best. Washington to North California. There are some groups in North Carolina and Tennessee and such, but not as strong. Florida use to have quite the autonomous living means, but a lot of it died off in the late 90's and the newer generation is very disinterested. I would love to join a commune one day, but first I want to finish school so I have something to offer other than just manual labor.
LOL. Nice. I wish we had more communes around these parts, especially ones with wireless internet!
That's great Alceste, of course, I don't think the internet would be the same without you. =[
