    Nice math formulas you gave. Though the one for B is incorrect imo...(I came to a different formula with OP info), but I agree that B gave more than A when compared at any time (assuming letters came at the same time)

    I just used 2n instead of n in the basic formula n(n+1)/2.

    What should B's formula B then be then?

    I think this is correct:
    A: n*(1n+1)/2....1.2.3.4.05.06...(info from OP)
    B: n*(2n+2)/2....2.4.6.8.10.12...

    A: Starts with 1, adding 1 per letter
    B: Starts with 2, adding 2 per letter
