    Sorry for the way I responded on the "scientists" thread, I reread it and thought the way I responded was not really nice. Apologies.
    I like your approach. Its moderate. I'm not adverse to reading material from various schools. I like some of the Tibetan approach myself, the emphasis on the Bodhisattva ethics.
    Out of curiosity, of what school of Buddhism do you consider yourself? I'm probably going Zen since it seems to allow for a less literal approach to most tenants.
    I wish there was some simple answer to the current Middle Eastern problems because I truly do abhor violence as much as you do. I find this topic evokes deep conflict with my Buddhist leanings because that violence never extinguishes violence is a universal truth. I would appreciate your insight into how I should approach this in my mind.
