  • she seems an adorable woman , Glad she finally found the happiness she deserves...
Please don't be embarrassed, Maro! When you get to be my age, you too will probably take great pleasure in recognizing the virtues of younger people. That is one of the blessings of getting older. Besides which, I consider it your precious gift to me that we can disagree on some things and yet still respect each other and be friends.

Eryn, the Canadian lady, has found herself a wonderful boyfriend who is her own age! For the first time, she tells me, she is in a relationship that makes her completely happy. I have been very happy for her, because she has had a tough life, and, in my opinion, it is about time she found some happiness. I adore Eryn because she has gone through so many troubles, and yet she has kept her humanity and not become bitter or cynical. That is real strength, I think.
Thanks phil , you keep embarrasing me with your sweet words... . Btw , How is the canadian lady doing ? ;)
I was just thinking what a beautiful mind you have, Maro. I love reading your posts, even when I don't entirely agree with them, because you have such great insights into things that you get even me thinking. Sometimes I see a much fuller picture because of you. Thank you for that.

On the other hand, I am completely and utterly a lunatic so my opinions of people don't count for much. :D
Yeah ,it's mine.....how is my little lion doing ? ,You better not mess with it....
Are you missing an African lion? Because there's an African lion loose in Colorado Springs. I was wondering if it was yours?
dear maro the pic is so small and when I zoomed it out to see the faces it just became so blurred and nothing appears but colors :( You can send me another one later when you have it on your pc, ok :)
hahahaha now that I saw how you drive in Cairo with my proper eyes I believe you dear ;)

i don't know why ? my parents didn't bother to take me there ever..and i don't feel interested too..i have seen the pyramids several times " from outside"...but i never visited them....what is more surprising is that i never visited any monuments at all...even the Egyptian museum !!..i am sorry sis. abt the picture...it's a very clear pic. wallahy..but i don't know what happened.. and i don't know how to send it in another format...
May I ask you Mayada, I am suprised that you live in Cairo and you have never visited them, why??
I have been in Cairo too last year and I visited the pyramids and I even got inside one of the pyramids... and I even rode a camel ;) that was a great exprience indeed. One thing that really scared me is the traffic jam and and the way people drive, I believe I can never drive a car in Cairo hehehe :)
yes , the underdround has been extended , and both the minibuses and the underground are like "sardines in a can " alhamdullilah...lol....
The thing I remember is those small minibuses that you just jump in to go down the main roads. Like sardines in a can sometimes. Has the underground been extended??
i never visited the pyramids Nehustan , can u believe that ?...anyway ,Glad you enjoyed the horses..but don't go on with the shaba thing next time , u might get caught or something ..,lol "just kidding ".... i guess u will find more contrast the next time u visit egypt...more crowdness... that decade has changed a lot......
Wow wow, you have been to Egypt......cool, man!! That's really fantastic!!!
I told you, we should start a thread especially for you!!
I did. We hired horses and road about pretending to be sahaba, shouting out the takbir ;) I was invited over by some brothers who were superlative hosts. I stayed in Mohandiseen and Ain Shams, so got a good look at the contrasts in Egyptian society; that said I equally enjoyed both areas. I worked with an Egyptian girl who looked shocked when I said I stayed in Ain Shams, she said 'That's a Muslim brotherhood stronghold' :)

Part of my course consisted of Archeaology, and my particlular interest was Aegypt. I wrote a paper on the transition from stone to metal tools in Predynastic Aegypt.
