  • What can I say? The Vaishnava part of me is stubborn, and I know that my Shaiva friend would agree with me as well. Many Hindus I know would consider tribal beliefs to be Vedic-influenced, but not really as Dharma proper.
I feel that pagan religions have been necessarily animistic or polytheistic, whilst Hindu Dharma is monist or monotheist. There definitely *are* folk religions in India that would have been mistaken for Hindu Dharma, or used Hindu myths for their beliefs, but Hinduism is a world religion to me, that has followers also in Bali, Indonesia, and the ancient times of the Philippines and South East Asia. The Vedic empire was vast.
That's pretty exciting. To think my brother is in Wisconsin and isn't out protesting, too. Damn it. :( Got time to chat for a while, btw?
Awesome, thanks! I'm always up for chatting, by the way. :) I'm shy, but really trying to get over that so I can make some friends and get some conversation going.
Yinepudjesef. I recently came back after a hiatus thing that nobody knew about. xD Do you mind if I friend you? I really love reading your posts. :3
I also know there is an afterlife and find reincarnation 90% likely but am open to other forms of an afterlife. I believe everybody eventually reaches God though, whatever form the afterlife takes.
Sorta... I either Abrahamicise my Dharmic beliefs... or I Dharmicise my Abrahamic beliefs, LOL. Age old Dharma, or new Abrahamic revelation? For now, I'm just both... or in one way or another. :p
Hey EP, I'm in chat if you feel like popping in. I've posted in the Chat thread, too, so maybe some others will join us.
Hey EP, have you ever read the Kulayaraja Tantra text? I found it here . Not read it myself yet, but I'm reading through something which mentions it. It looks.. interesting enough. Could do with a clean up for easier readability, though, tbh.
I've had a falling out of sorts. I retain many of the principles (oneness of humanity, oneness of God if God exists, etc), but I have sacrificed the label and the belief in infallible scripture and infallible men. I wouldn't consider myself a Baha'i though.
