    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

If it's about language, we need translators. You offer yours, I offer mine. I suppose now we have to fight over what translation is better, and I can't do that. I'm going to always defer to the translators, and they don't seem to be able to help us out very much for that passage. I guess it...

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

According to the Quran, 1. The universe was smoke . 2. BUT also contained the Earth. 3. And smoke and planets can talk, and have "will". In what possible way can you see this as having ANYTHING to do with the Big Bang theory? According the the Quran: 1. The heavens and the Earth...

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

I know what the Big Bang theory is, thanks. I edited my question to you because I got mixed up. Sorry. If you read my edited version of post 75, you will see a better comment. Sorry for the mix-up.

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

The big bang isn't a cause... it's how the universe started.. the events that took place. Nobody knows what the CAUSE of the universe, the CAUSE of that "Big Bang" was. There already had to BE something before it could "bang". Read more here: http://www.space.com/25126-big-bang-theory.html...

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

Unfortunately, a scientific THEORY is an explanation of the facts. The facts don't change from day to day. Sorry. You don't understand science, how it works, and how it applies to ToE.

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

    1. You would have to demonstrate, not just assert that "the whole something is from God". 2. Just because something sounds crazy to you doesn't mean it's false. 3. It doesn't MATTER what some atheists think about the cause of the universe, nobody KNOWS the cause. Even though some people might...

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

A scientific theory will ALWAYS change due to some new data. That's why we can trust it. A good scientific theory is NEVER set in stone but on facts. On the other hand, a religious belief that cannot be changed requires a very closed mind. No new data will be able to penetrate a very closed...

So, how do you account for the success of modern science?

Can a Genesis God be Explained from a Science Perspective? (part 1)

"Experts" does not mean "correct" or "accepted" by their peers. We know that these experts probably work for the Discovery Institute, and that ID has been completely discredited as a big part of the Wedge. ID is not science, it's creationism disguising itself as science. I wonder if you are...

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

Ok, thanks for the thoughtful reply. I asked because I suppose the way that you use the word "god" is a little ... different than most monotheists, to say the least! I think I could use the word "god" to mean "all things", but I just find the term redundant. I can say that I revere all things, (...

Do you believe in spontaneous organic life from non living elements?

Do you believe in god magic? If you walk back the Bible story to the beginning, at some point you have to deal with this question. Even if that first life came from dust and god magic you still have to get to the point of answering the question of how that organism form.

Can a Genesis God be Explained from a Science Perspective? (part 1)

I agree with your whole-hardheartedly. I hate the polarized nature of debates. It sometimes brings out the very worst in us. When I started "arguing" with theists, I was quite belligerent. Ahh.. my newsgroups and Youtube days! I think that I have "upped" my game since then. I got a lot of...

Can a Genesis God be Explained from a Science Perspective? (part 1)

There are a few logical problems with the way you formulate your challenge: 1. If you really want to confirm a Biblical bias, the Bible is going to be the perfect place to look for it. Unfortunately, confirmation bias is a terrible method to prove anything. As they say, we can use the Bible to...

Can a Genesis God be Explained from a Science Perspective? (part 1)

If you have to insist from the get go that the universe was CREATED, it's not going to be a stretch for you to justify that it was created. As they say, a CREATION implies a CREATION and vice versa. Using the word "created" is misleading. :)

ToE can't be proved?... Nothing more than theories? Some people really don't care to investigate the science they want to deny. :)

    Creationist philosophy explained

    Evolution and Creationism: because ...

Some people invoke a creator in order to prove that a creator exists. Such circular thinking is never convincing. 1. The scientific method does not include "faith". 2. Denying facts isn't convincing. Most people who deny science aren't scientists nor do they even understand the science that...
