    For atheists

I would assume that the reason would be to better ourselves and be the best we can be. It is often that the best of us have endured many trials and tribulations in their lives. Having overcome these obstacles, they come out on the other side better than before. You can't have success without...

Pope Francis calls unfettered capitalism 'tyranny' in manifesto for papacy

As do I, but I'm working on that.

Pope Francis calls unfettered capitalism 'tyranny' in manifesto for papacy

We should start with ourselves instead of looking at a broad societal solution.

Pope Francis calls unfettered capitalism 'tyranny' in manifesto for papacy

I agree that the bible does these things, but can't capitalism (in a perfect world) exist without greed and materialism?

I don't believe that the problem is with Capitalism...the problem is people. There is no system whether it be capitalism, socialism or any other "ism" that isn't corruptible by man. The fact is that there is enough in this world to go around but people are selfish and greedy. I sit here...

    Gospel of Thomas verse 29

I believe Jesus was definitely speaking metaphorically as he does throughout the Book of Thomas. He viewed himself as a spiritual being that had no sexual identification and this quote reflects that belief.

    Gospel of Thomas verse 29

I pretty much interpret it the same way. I would add that Jesus was amazed that such an perfect thing as the spirit would dwell in a body that was in such an imperfect world.

It's Not What You Say, It Is The Target Of The Statment or Words.

Cable news is a joke. I find it amusing that you both have avatars of grumpy old men shaking their fist.

    Gospel of Thomas verse 29

I remember when I first read the Gospel of Thomas years ago and was thoroughly confused by the sayings. Now that I have a more knowledge of Christian mysticism I am able to understand a majority of them. I'm sure these sayings were confusing to the Apostles as well and is probably one of the...

Why don't Theist's admit that there's no evidence for God?

Oneway, I believe Proof of God can only be provided by God via personal experience. Religious texts were written by man and can't be wholly reliable because they have been mistranslated, misunderstood and manipulated over the course of many hundreds of years. Proving/disproving the existence...

Why don't Theist's admit that there's no evidence for God?

No one can prove the existence of God. One can only experience God for themselves. IMO, God reveals itself when one is ready to receive it.
