I don't believe it should be taken as 100% true. It was written by men and influenced by the times they lived in. There's also a lot of symbolism in it and different ways to interpret it.
I suppose if you believe in an afterlife death is the only way to find out what's true. Personally, I believe in an afterlife, so I guess I'll find out then. For those who don't believe in an afterlife, I guess they think they'll find out before they die or not at all for sure.
I picked 'own beliefs'. I don't belong to a religion and I just believe a bunch of different things. I guess I'd probably fit in well with Unitarian Universalists, heh.
