Is there such a thing as a universal religion?

When science ever maximizes its power and influence, and when many mainstream religions can be properly refuted then that might open the door for a universal philosophy/religion. Anything universal will start with general principles regarding morality, and even metaphysics. I don't think 100%...

Capitalists may have the same mentality as Nazis: that people must be enslaved

Capitalism without rules is like basketball or football without rules. It turns into a complete mess. You'll get monopoly, oligarchy, and authoritarian rule without rules for capitalism. Human nature makes every system king of the hill savagery. We are bound to hit another generation of people...

Why Didn't the Universe Always Exist?

When I think time I think of that which makes change, motion, and events going forward possible. Is the sole measure of time based on atomic clocks? As far as space being created does that have a point of origin? Outside the finite would be non existence then, or the unknown. I don't see...

Why Didn't the Universe Always Exist?

Then space always existed and is merely expanding. No beginning to space and time perhaps.

Why Didn't the Universe Always Exist?

To assume finitude to existence is to assume that non existence actually exists. Finite has ends. I'm distinguishing between universe and existence. How does anything exist without space to exist in? Very interesting, thank you!

Why Didn't the Universe Always Exist?

That the universe is everything is just an big assumption. And anything finite has ends. Therefore there's a beyond the universe. A finite existence is impossible.

Do You Find Ietsism a Likely and/or Plausible Belief?

Far different than my ietsism. Multiverse is an interesting speculation. I'm dualistic because I believe life is fundamental and all these universes are offsprings from the fundamental reality. Life dimensions interact with physical dimensions. I believe existence is infinite in all directions...

"Pious Frauds" done "in the name of Jesus"!?

And what is the definition of unrighteousness? Part of that is non belief. Who's standard of righteousness and what does that even mean? What are examples of righteousness in the Bible? OT genocide, slavery, etc.

I have a feeling that the afterlife doesn't exist

You said: That doesn't make sense. How can we fear doing evil without evil itself being evil and good without good being good in itself. I say: It's the fear of not doing good because of the consequences of doing evil.

I have a feeling that the afterlife doesn't exist

This seems to make the assumption that everyone is in need of mercy. Perhaps fear keeps the immoral from stepping out of line with a perceived moral deity. Fear might be an appropriate response for one who is immoral. Nothing changes the fact that genuine morality is one's own desire to be...

I have a feeling that the afterlife doesn't exist

Fear of doom, or being caught as a basis for one's morals is not moral at all. It's self evident. Genuine morality is the desire and care to do right by others and self. This needs no further evidence nor explanation. Your morality is how you actually are and what motivates you to do...

Do You Find Ietsism a Likely and/or Plausible Belief?

I don't really know anything about New Age. I know there is new age music, but I don't think that relates to the movement. I have no idea what a God would or could reveal to convince me. For me God would have to be an active participant on Earth for me to believe. Human language wouldn't be...

Can't really get into it. It doesn't draw me in as being truthful.

Do You Find Ietsism a Likely and/or Plausible Belief?

No I have not but I just Googled her. I don't remember volunteering but knowing my personality I'd have come here just to make things right for life if I could have. I actually don't buy into it though! Free will is strong evidence though that there's a beyond. She sounds like interesting...

Do You Find Ietsism a Likely and/or Plausible Belief?

Everything but this existence! This must be the exception to the rule. I know of a tiny bit of cosmology enough to know this vast void is physically brutal and most of it unfriendly to life to say the least. I'd prefer an existence that maintains itself. Oh well! Lol.

Do You Find Ietsism a Likely and/or Plausible Belief?

So God spans all of every existence and is not a being? Must run a very busy schedule I bet. As for imagination and possibility I consider there might be more existences then ours. Who knows they might be totally different then this existence which many people consider to be all that there is.

What is the Nature of Life?

Define life? Define nature? For me it is to find out about everything there is to love and hate, and then purpose my life accordingly. Life is that which brings peace, love, and joy. That sounds merry, and easy but it is actually through suffering, and hardship and tragedy that one finds...

Do You Find Ietsism a Likely and/or Plausible Belief?

I'm not big on chances or probabilities. There's definitely many fortunate occurrences happening to allow for intelligent life to exist here. It may be that it would happen the very second the window of opportunity opens up. I think the mere existence of intelligent life aside from those...
